I counted the number of times I've needed to carry more than one other person in my Fit and realized it was almost never and when I do carry 3 or more I always know ahead of time. So I pulled out my rear seats. Easy as pie. 7 bolts total. The space it freed up is amazing and it still looks very stock and clean. The 50-60 lbs of weight reduction probably doesn't hurt either. I was just curious if anyone else out there is cruising in a 2 seater fit but with all the trim still in.

Iv'e had mine out for about 2 months since a business trip where I needed the extra room. Except mine was 4 bolts and over 60 lbs.
The dogs like it better and if I need 4 seats I just drive one of the other cars.

Do you notice more road noise with the seats out? I actually run with my seats "up" because when the seats are folded down I notice a bit more road noise through the rear floor.

Interesting mod, would work for us, too, I guess. We are only 2 people and a big dog, and it would be nice to have a cage for the dog in the back plus lots of space without the rear seats. How hard is it to remove the seats? Can you still put them back in within a reasonable amount of time? So for example you could remove them for a road trip and then put them back in.
We still have a second car with 5 seats, so no problem there...

Yes not too much, but it is a little more present, but only when the Subwoofer is off...which is like never

Its super easy. Just fold the seats down flat, lift up the piece of the spare tire cover that folds over the seats, and undo the 7 bolts. Don't forget to slip the carpet over the tabs that attach the carpeting to the bottom of the seats. Take 'em out and you're done

Mine was also 4 bolts for the seats however I pulled the 3 bolts for the seatbelts as well.

How long do you think it would it take to put your seats back in?
ill say 10 minutes counting the time it would take me to carry them up from the basement.
Nope! There aren't any sensors/wires hooked to the rear seat anyway.
oh sweet. i'll take 'em off tommorow after work thanks. Wow really 50-60 lbs, geebuz thats a lot of weight to be carrying around, well atleast for me it is lol.
That sounds really interesting. I have to drive up to the airport in 2 weeks with at least 2 big suitcases, a big dog in a kennel and 2 people - might be better to take the rear seat out. Plus, nobody's gonna steal a car with no back seat

Now I know there's lots of folks on this forum who have done this. I want to see pics of the gd3s! If I had known it was so easy I may have considered it earlier.
I need to see what the cargo area looks like tho, as one of my dogs is crated back there and the other is loose.
Ok, finally got the tools for the job and did it. It did feel lighter driving to get my oil change but did not feel any difference coming back. The oil change probably had something to do with it. Here are some pics (not the best since it's my phone)
