Hi folks, I'm looking to get some tinted windows for my new 09 Fit Sport.
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for tint shops in Missouri. I live in Columbia, so I am within driving distance of both Kansas City and St. Louis.
Thanks in advance!

Dude you don't have to drive all the way to STL to get your windows tinted... just take it to one of your local shops, I'm sure they will take care of you. Hell even my Honda dealer managed to get it right... tint is not that hard to do!
I was just going to ask about this, crazy. I have had one recomendation for this place
Tint Crafters inc. 1206 Rogers St Columbia, MO ph#573- 256-5877
Did u end up using Tint Crafters? I called twice and each time was told that they'll call right back and let me know when I can get the tint job done. Each time they never called me back.
Actually, right after I posted the previous message, the manager at Tint Crafters called me back and apologized for the way the phone calls were handled and offered me a free auto detailing. So I actually decided to use them after all. My appointment's made for this Wednesday.

Hells yeah man! Good customer service, there! Don't forget to post up pics of your newly detailed and tinted Fit!

Thats good news. Please post up how the rest of your experience went and some pics if you can.
OK, so finally got the tint job done - 35% front, 20% rest (Check out pictures below), but it was definitely an ordeal:
So I went in on Wednesday at 1pm for my appointment expecting to get a full tint job and a free detailing for $189 (which was the price quoted over the phone). However, when I showed up, "detailing" turned into an exterior wash and the price got bumped to $250 because the guy didn't know the FIT had so many windows. So now it has to be charged at the rate for station wagons rather than a 4-door. I considered this total BS since I gave him both the year and model of the car for the price quote previously.
At this point, I was ready to leave but then the guy drops the price to $225 including taxes. Since it was only $35 more than what I had expected to pay anyways and I've definitely wasted $35 at much less meaningful things, I decide to go ahead and get the job done. I left the car at Tint Masters and went to school, expecting to pick it up tinted and washed at 6pm.
When I showed up at 6pm, I get the bad news: they ran out of tint. So I won't be able to get the job done until Thursday. It was annoying but I did like the fact that they let me drive away the partially tinted car without putting any payment down, shows a bit of trust in the customer. When I returned on Thursday, I was told the UPS truck won't show up until Friday! And I finally just got my car done today! 3 day tint job - how about that! After all the ordeal, I ended up paying $220 for the job.
Overall, I would rate my experience at Tint Masters at a 5/10. It would have been a 3/10 if not for the fact they offer Suntek High Performance films, which is warrantied for life against peeling, cracking, adhesive failure, demetalization, and delamination. Although I paid a little more than expected, I am rather satisfied with the job done (See pictures). If you choose to do your tinting at Tint Masters, I'd recommend calling and getting a price quote for the car including any taxes and fees (make sure they know you have lots of windows so they can't raise the price on you later). If that price is higher than $220, let them know that you had a friend with the exact same car who got it done with a wash for $220 and you would gladly take your business elsewhere if they don't come down in price.
Anybody try the precut kits from E-Bay for around $30. If so which one did you buy from? I think I might give it a try. The back window looks to be a pain but I can always pay a shop for that.

Not eBay, but I got a set from Window Tinting at SnapTint.com . Except for the fact that they didn't send the windshield strip, I thought the service and product were great, and the price decent, at about $100 with good warranty and inexpensive replacement prices for any tints you botch. If you are determined and careful, you can do them yourself. The main trick I think is to be sure you squeegie out all the excess water. The tints will look clear even if you don't, but the excess will pool into little bubbles of water that are a pain to get rid of later. I didn't get as good a result with it as i should have because i didn't realize that. Also, be sure to keep the tint wetted with the soapy water solution while you do the squeegieing.
EDIT: Well, I'll be ... a month later, and the windows are clear.. no bubbles! Guess the suggested 'several days' was an optimistic way of saying 'up to 30'. LOL!
