I am trying to use a PC Card in the Nav radio for music.
I am using a Viking 32 Bit 5 in 1 adapter with a Sandisk 1.0 Gig SD card.
The card is formatted for FAT32 and I just copied mp3 files straight over to the card.
When I insert the adapter into the Nav radio, I can't close the front panel - the radio beeps three or four times. The only way to close the front panel is to remove the pc card adapter.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

While I hate to say "check the manual", they state that the Navi unit has a problem with PCMCIA adapters that support a broad range of memory types (Because each adapter class registers as a different logical drive, it could easily end up confusing the head unit).
What I would do is look for a straight SD (or SD/MMC) PCMCIA adapter. I bought some generic one off of ebay, and it's working great.
Also, google Panasonic's SD formatting utility and use that to format the SD card: That's the best way to guarantee a 100% compatible Fat32 format.
I also found out that it's best to swap the PCMCIA adapter or card when the car is off, as sometimes the headunit needs to "restart" when you turn on the car.
I know - being a guy I like to figure this out without the manual but I finally went to it. Doesn't give any specific info on the adapters or cards or errors. The great line in the manual is "not all cards work with this unit" - where are the specifics? I'll see if anybody else posts otherwise I get in touch with Honda.
The easiest way to play musics in Hoda Fit is dump your MP3 into a USB drive and connect it to USB connect in your FIT. I have 500GB USB drive connect to NAV. You can listen to it from NY to CA without repeating a single song.

Yeah, I have a 32GB Kingston flash drive setup with mine. I agree it's a relatively inexpensive and convenient way to get your music in the Fit. My folders take a bit longer to load than I would like (sometimes they won't load at all), the track titles can take a while too. Does your 500GB drive do this? What make/model drive are you using?
I would love to have a search function for my music collection...that's the one benefit of utilizing the PC card function. Although there are significant size limitations, at least you get a search function! Guess I need to upgrade my head unit some day.
Let us know what specific PC card setup ends up working best, I would like to try this out sometime.

Can you provide a link to the exact product you purchased to get it to work? Great info here so far, thanks man!
