Wind question for Bay Area/Central Valley california Fit owners

Not sure where to put this thread so sorry if in wrong place. I just recently bought my Fit and I am new to some of the wind thats up here in northern california especially heading toward the central valley. Anyone else feel like the car is easily blown by the wind around the dublin/livermore/altamont pass areas? Sometimes it feels really unstable when the wind picks up.

That would be expected for the Fit. It is tall, slab-sided and somewhat narrow so it will take a hit in the wind.

My wife's 08 gets blown around on highway 1 down here in Monterey but there wasn't any wind when I test drove the 09.

I drove both the GD and the GE, it's normal to be push around by the wind.

Yeah, I drive I680 between Concord & Cordelia every day, some days its not so bad, others I get pushed around a lot --- but on that road everyone does with those winds. I've gotten used to it. But when I can put some wider tires on the Fit (205/50/16's) it should help some.

Thanks everyone I was really worried when I had to slow down to almost 60 just to not be blown around in the lane. Guess I am not used to the fit handling in the wind!

would a rear sway bar help resist the tendency for the car to be blown around in the wind?

I notice my 09 sport is not as stable at high speeds/wind as my 07 w/ a progress rear sway bar.
