Thanks Scott! So we only need a schematic of the UDFP/MICU connector pin location, and we're all set. This is going to be even easier than the CR-V was! How hard is it to pull the few panels apart? Any chance of breakage?

On the UDFP/MICU connector, I don't have a good pic since I didn't remove it for the install. I'll try to sketch something out this evening and post it to show the exact position.

Outstanding work . . . I really hope this is possible on a GD3. I just looked it up, the GD & GE have different Honda PN#'s for the combination switch. But I don't know how different they really are.

Local Dealer was nice enough to let me take a pic of their schematic.
Here is a pic showing Connector Q (Pin 7) for the UDFP.

Here is a pic of the backside of the UDFP and where Connector Q is located.

+ rep to you sir. Let me get this straight, we need a wire with 2 connectors, one on each end? one goes into intermittent wiper stalk and the other goes into the # 7 slot of connector Q? how long does this wire have to be and what gauge? sorry if these questions seems trivial but I'm a full time noob.

I may be buying a Fit tomorrow and if I do, I am already thinking that this will be my first mod. Is it a noob-eligible mod or should I start on something else?

Let me just say to all that I have done this mod on a 2002 CR-V, and the hardest part is in fact getting the proper pins. They're next to impossible to find! Most people where just yanking them from old harnesses etc... I lucked out and someone mailed me some, so I have exactly 2 left which I will use on the Fit for my mod...

If anyone can source the pins please speak up for others!

I've searched for a feasible solution for the UDFP pins/connectors (I have no idea what the ones I got came from... they were in a pile of wires).
While I haven't had a chance to look at the back of the stock radios... I was wondering if the metra 71-1729 (factory radio harness replacement plug... not 70-1729 adapter) would work for our needs. When I look at the pins/connectors via online pics, they look to be about the correct size. At $14 bucks its a bit much for a couple connectors, but you do get 20 of the small size you can share with other fit owners doing this mod.

Hopefully this might be an option?

Choro-Q, in short yes. I only added one wire about 1.5 feet long. I'm not sure on the AWG wire... I used what I had around the garage from misc wiring harnesses. All in all, the homework was the hardest part. The actual install is very very easy... assuming you can find the pin/connectors.

Since this was done on a 2002 CRV someone please tell me it can be done on a GD3.

Are the connectors on both ends (fuse panel & combo switch) the same?

Thats awesome. Both my Dad and I own 09 White Fit Sport MT Non-Navi. When I visited my Dad after picking up my new Fit, he was so impressed we went to the Honda dealer the next day to pick up one for him.

Secondspassed, I looked up as much info that I could, but as far as I can tell... it won't be a simple mod on the first gen Fits.

The 07/08 Fits have the Int Wiper delay function as part of the Wiper Stalk. It does not have any of the wiper function controlled by an external MICU or ICU.

I did look up the CRVs in a few different gens and the 05 seems to have a connector that looks similar to the 1st gen Fit. However, it still has an external MICU that controls the front wipers.

I also looked up the first gen Insight. This one also has a connector that looks like it would work. In fact it holds a lot of promise since most of the wiper functions are mechanically controlled. Additionally, it uses a seperate int wiper relay setup as well. Unfortunantly, the actual wiper delay function seems to be part of the gauge cluster. (I know... strange). I think if someone can invest the time, a standalone int wiper delay like the one used in the first version of "element var int wiper mod" (See element forum) might be able to work for ya using the first gen Insight Stalk.

Again, these are all guesses on my part and what limited resources I can find on the web. I'm not a Honda expert... just a noob that likes to tinker.

Hope this helps.
Michael

possible Japan pin source,,,

Someone who is familiar with what the pins look like take a look here:

090 Connectors

This guy is a Canadian living in Japan. He sells all kinda electric gizmos mostly for motorcycles. Great guy to do business with-- reasonable prices and fairly fast shipping. These Sumitomo connectors might do the trick,,,,,,,,,

that's steep. you can find harnesses at the junkyard. most of the time, the yard won't even charge you, or you can just pop out the connector and pocket it.
Also from what I've seen, it looks like we just need two females. No sense in getting both male and female.
