Our dealer let us take it and try it -- told them up front and they said go do it. We had 1/4" clearance on the chin backing straight out. We've scraped once, coming out of a parking lot in town. Was only the rubber strip, no biggie. Had a feeling I might but didn't get angled enough quick enough.

Heheh. The salesman did not come with me. They always let me take it out by myself. Drove to my house a few miles away and tested it and came back and made a deposit!

Oh yeah it was on that one. The scrape was just like the posters here said. right on the bottom of the plastic underguard. Can't be seen and is actually meant to be scraped.

Don't forget, added weight = lower car.

What doesn't scrape with you alone in the car may well scrape with a full passenger load, or the back end full of goodies.

I've watched people here get slightly hung up on the curb, because they come alone, pull in too far, so that the passenger side of the bumper goes over the curb, nicely, not scraping.

Then they go back to their car with their buddies, and everyone piles in, and that front corner slams down on the curb.

Somewhere there's a thread on "what can you fit in your Fit?" and check out the red car that had the many bags of soil in it. The body was resting on the back wheels and scraping the tires.

That's extreme, but it's good to realize the possibilities BEFORE they happen to you.
