If tire rack knew of a way to tell people to activate the sensors they sell, don't you think they'd tell you upfront, instead of saying that you'll have to go to the dealership?

From TireRack 'Once installed, you will need to read your vehicle's owner's manual to review the proper procedure for allowing your vehicle to "recognize" the new sensors.'

I didn't see anything in the owners manual (online version) though.

The Fit Service Manual talks about special tools for the procedure... Tire Rack doesn't seem to mention that extra cost. Where did you see that you need to go to the dealer.

Black tape is looking better and better ;-)

The TPMS sensors are an extra $140. There is $50 (or $100) back.

4x Sport Edition at $81 each
4 x Blizzak at $73 each
4 x Sensors at $35 each
Shipping $89

Total $845.

Steelies at $25 each?

I sent Tire Rack a question about whether or not they would be making steel wheels available (for my '09 base) and it looks like they aren't going to be. Maybe if enough people express an interest....

-----------------------

Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry to the Tire Rack. I do not see any steel wheels for that vehicle in the immediate future. Be sure to check back periodically, as we add new styles and fitments on a regular basis.

This is the package I'll probably go with; minus the sensors.

I just read that Obama will impose a tariff on tires imported from China. Starts Sept. 26 at 35%. With further increases in 2010 and 2011. U.S. to Impose Tariff on Tires From China

I'm assuming this will lead to an increase in prices for non-China tires as well. What do you think?
