Question: What type of speakers/stereo comes in the Fit Sport?

Was wondering weather the speakers and stereo that come stock in the fit are reasonable, or if anyone knows the makes on them?

Just curious!

Thanks in advance...

I just had one of the speakers out the other day but I don't remember seeing a Make. They are really cheap though and the coils are tiny. I'd say Honda's stock stereo systems are getting better, but not that much better. You can easily spend a little bit of money and get much better sound.
That's true with most cars though. My RX-8 had a Bose system but the system was still crappy. The door speaker cones were made from cloth and the rest were paper.
I fairly expensive sound system in there (~ $1500) but even the $200 system I put in to sell it sounds better than the Bose and it's just a headunit and 2 coaxial speakers up front.

Wow... those are... inadequate... lol >.<

So are the speakers all 6.5's? And how many of them are there?

Also, do you need any mounting plates in order to install speakers that have larer magnets (Though from the looks of it my headphone speakers use larger magnets )

Yeah 6.5 all the way around (2 front door, 2 back door) though I wouldn't waste my time upgrading or even using the rear speakers unless you have rear passengers often.

The depth of the door panel seems adequate for even the largest magnets. As far as a mounting bracket the only thing I've seen done so far is someone taking apart the stock speaker and using the plastic ring/bracket as a bracket for the new speaker.

Looks like Crutchfield has some adapter brackets. I would personally have some MDF baffles made but I know a guy that's local to me that does that

I would bet $$ that that magnet is a neodymium is probably equal to a 10 to 15 oz ceramic.
I think they are made by Foster http://www.foster.co.jp/en_corporate...ductsInfo.html
Adapter plates are available. The ones I found listed on ebay are 3/4" deep. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT
Seller says they are the same as 01-05 Civic 03-09 Accord.

I'm a pro audio/musician guy in the recording industry too. I rely heavily on at least a decent respresentation of sound in the car- or at least can be tweaked for good sound. I thought the sound in the fit was not great at first, but with a little tweaking you can get a good sound. You'll never get a thumpin car rattling sound for sure, but a good sound can be had. The biggest thing is just acclimating to a new cockpit. Every car will sound different by default, taking into consideration the shape of the cockpit. This is what threw me at first. I was very used to the sound in my old car. But after that works out, it's acceptable. Surely you can do WAY better, but stock it's fine. I actually like the stereo controls themselves. I prefer a notch or so to the back speakers, otherwise it sounds to 'AM' all up front. And the first thing I shut off was AVC. I'll adjust my own volume, thank you. Thankfully, it's an option that can be truned off. All in all- acceptable. I have the good shit where it counts. The car, I just need it tweaked to be an accurate playback of what I know the sound should be.

...on a more serious note, I didn't realize how lame the factor speakers really are. I'm gonna have to do somethin about that myself...maybe somethin simple, no thrills, but certainly better that sh*t - JL Audio Evolution series perhaps...

Once I put in an aftermarket headunit, the stock speaker's sound pretty good actually. I was use to having diamond audio components and jl audio subs and amps in my other car, and while the fit isnt as loud. The clarity is there and I can definetly live with it.

LOL! How did I know I would get that comment. Yes, the fit is fine, imo. I don't ask a lot out of the car stereo. Some people have high demands in the car though, so as always- YMMV.

Usually off

Kidding aside, I fiddle a lot depending on the track at hand. Generally I have the bass a couple of ticks down from C. Reason being, at C it sounds like a good response but there's no definition to the bass region of the audio- it's just boomy mush, especially ticked UP from C. One or two ticks down clears it out, and that's track dependent. Treble I seem to have settled on two ticks up from C. This makes the high end thin out a bit without it getting shrill. Fade depends, but usually I keep it at C or one tick to the back, which tends to give the sound a more spacious response. I like the sound with a little response from the back. The last one- pan?- I keep at center.

Not much tweaking right? Well, there isn't much tweak control to begin with. Would I like a six band parametric eq? Sure! With the Fit, extremes don't seem to be called for, at least not for me. I'm looking for a true response, not hyped up bass and treble. Don't get me wrong, there's every reason to expect WAY better with an upgrade, of course. But I know BAD in a car stereo and even though you can pull the speakers in the fit and be appalled, in the end it's balanced well enough for the space for the sound to be fine. Amazing? No. But accetable yes. I mean...it's a car. Put it this way, I've had better stock stereos and speakers in my cars that have sounded worse than the fit. Like I said though- YMMV.

Why would you want to be surrounded by the music? Why wouldn't you want the music to sound like it's coming in front of you? As if you were at a concert and the band is in front of you? Do you listen to music in the house on a surround sound system?

No, I didn't get into surround like others. It's way cool mind you, but I still prefer stereo. It's not that I'm looking to be surrounded by the sound. Maybe I used a bad choice of words. It's just a wee little more response from the back then set at C. And when it's set at C, you are getting response from the back as well. One tick to the rear just open that up a little bit more. Anything past that weakens the sound from the front seats. What I wouldn't want is the thing set all to the front. That's not good. You're cutting off half of your audio response doing that. Set at C is appropriate most of the time- if not always. And the last thing I want to do is come off as a know it all about the fits stereo and sound. I know audio, but in the car I'm just another person with personal preferences, that's all. Set it how ya like it and if that doesn't do it, spend yourself some bucks for an upgrade!

You're not really cutting off half of your audio response. The rear speakers play the same thing the front speakers are playing. So if anything having them on will contribute to cancellation.
