Ok, the noise is still there, just it's different now. I think it's because I didn't put the rubber bottoms on the mugen springs, and it's just them clicking as they compress.
I installed the Lower Spring Seats, the little rubber things that go on the bottom of the front springs. The noise is absolutely gone. The car is like 1000000x better now.
U guys can also look for the GE damper set made by Showa tuning(well most of the Mugen's are made by Showa anyway), which is more affordable than the Mugen setup. Other than the stiffer springs difference, I'm kinda thinking if the GD bound/rebound setup will work well on the GE .
The suspension has been performing flawlessly. The ride height isn't bad at all, I don't have to worry about speedbumps or anything. I took the fit to Ocean City, and drove on some really bad roads, I scraped the airdam getting to a gas-station, but nothing else. And I don't drive especially carefully.
I have put about 2k miles on the suspension now, and I have loved every bit of it. The car responds, it hasn't almost gotten out from under me, and I feel in-control. I dn't feel like I'm driving an econobox, just an underpowered car that understeers.
I still need to fix the understeer problem, at the Philly airport today I noticed how bad it understeers. I'm going to try playing with tire pressures a bit again. My track pressures seem to be correct, I just have to get the street pressures fixed.

Great to hear man. Did u install some camber bolts & have alignment done yet btw?
Comparing to my father's GE8 Sport, I have two fingers of wheel gap on the back, he has four. I have two on the front, he has three. His is completely stock, and the seats are in the same position that mine are. His tank is at 1/2 my tank is at 3/8.
Has the height remained pretty much the same over the past 2k?

No, I was going to go by firestone today and have them do it.

What size tires are you running on?
The height hasn't changed at all. The suspension had about 10k on it when I installed it. I'm more than happy with the ride height, it's not too low, but also not pickup truck high.
I'm running 195/55r15 on 15x6.5 wheels currently. I plan on switching to 195/50r15 on 15x6 for winter. (yes, I know, but free tires...) I will probably only have issues with the 195/50 tires if I'm not careful. I've still got my eyes out for some decent 15" winter tires.
I read your thread about Mugen Suspension and would like your honest opinion of them.
I was at the local Jazz/Fit meet last Sunday and the sole Mugen importer was there looking for a car to test the new GE8 Mugen Suspension around the strets of Bangkok.
Anyway, the guy said Mugen Suspension was better than my BC Coilovers, so I agreed to let them use my car this Friday. I will be the first to test these out in Thailand.
What can I expect as far as the ride quality and drop goes?
Many thanks
I would go for it. The Mugen suspension is absolutely perfect. I hope the GE8 Mugen package is as good as the GE3 is.
They rock for a DD car. They're about as close to the edge of DD-able as I would like. They don't lower too much, but it's a noticeable drop, even by my girlfriend.
The handling is much increased over stock, and honestly, it feels like my CTR suspension on my civic.
OK, I went to the Mugen dealer this morning and gave them the keys to my car. I didn't ask any questions and went for lunch with a couple of good friends.
I arrived back 2 hours later, but my Fit had already been taken for a test drive. All they said was "the Mugen Suspension is perfect on the Thai Jazz/Fit".
The suspension kit came fully assembled, including new strut bearing and stronger bolts front and rear.
Anyway, I drove the car home on the expressway and I was impressed. The car felt firm, but not hard and sat tight on the road. I think better than my coilovers and they are pretty good.
awptickes your review was spot on, but my setup is about 2 fingers front and 2.5 fingers rear.
Does the Mugen feel/perform THAT much better than the BCs?
I love to mess around with suspension and I was surprised at how well the Mugen suspension performs. As for the BC coilovers, they are just as good, but fully adjustable and I think they out perform on cornering which would be better for the track.
There is one thing I would like to say, "lowering springs don't work so good with standard Honda Fit struts and shocks". The struts are too soft.
Give me a few days to really try out the Mugen Suspension.
Awesome. I'm glad you like it. I hope my tests helped you decide, and I'm very glad you got the GE8 struts. I got the GD3 ones for so cheap I couldn't say no.

I haven't actually bought them. They are for test only.
