yep. just lowering the car on springs wont help. it will actually degrade the overall performance. i will leave it at that.

There's also a trade off issue with 16" wheels and wider 205/50/16 tires.
After I had them fitted, I noticed more road grip straight away, but the car rolled/swayed a lot more from the wider tires. After 2 weeks of driving, I put my original wheels back on the car to test and for sure much less roll/sway.
But I must say the car looks much better with wider tires and my coilovers balance the trade off.
Looks like a decent fit...not like some of the insane wheel to tire size matches i've seen in the biker circles...sway has been noted, BUT, which 205/50/16 set did you put on?
I think he meant he wants to see what a 205/50-16 looks like on a stock Fit wheel, not what 205/50-16s look like on the car. At least, that's how I understood it... and I'm curious as well.

Not recommended to put this tire on a stock wheel.
According to Tire Rack the recommended rim width for 205/50/16 is 6.5 with 5.5-7.5 being the acceptible range. How wide are the stock sport rims? If they're 6 inches the 205 will fit fine.

meh, yeah it was late when i replied. 205/50/16 on a stock rim, or aftermarket rim of same size. lotta folks are putting the 205 on and saying the fit is good, and they've noticed improved handling...I'm fine with going up a size or two on the width. Even though his pics included aftermarket wheels, i guess i thought they were the same size.
anyway, yeah, looking to see tire fit at rim for 205 on stock or same size wheel....not how they look on the car.

Exactly
I did.
Any pics with 205/50-16 on STOCK rims please.

guys are going in the wrong direction if you want to improve handling.
get the stock size tires but a higher quality one.
your wheels are only 6" in width right? 205 on 6" is going to be
pretty sloppy for any performance driving. if they were 16x7.5's
(minimum 16x7) i would consider 205/50's... but for your stock
wheels, run stock size or just lower the profile.

Everyone I've seen running 205's say the handling is better. I'm just going off of what others are saying.
SCBarren just put 205/55-16's on his GE. See here...

better probably because it's a better tire than the stock tires. but if you want to maximize the car's responsiveness see if you can find the grippiest tire in the stock size. it will net you the most performance with the smallest side effect (tramlining, etc)
wider does not necessarily mean better traction unless you're using the same tire. it's the structure and compound that really counts. the wheel also reinforces the structure if you use the right width wheel too.
and the werd is too much grip can also slow down your car.

Unfortunately tirerack.com only lists the stock replacement tires (Bridgestone Turanza EL470 and Dunlop SP Sport 7000 A/S) and some Bridgestone Blizzak snow tires in the stock 185/55-16 size.
