They have all sorts of oils, fluids, filters and etc if you guys are looking for anything like that. Lot of independent testing out there, etc, these guys really know what they're doing!

I think it's best to say this is for the people who are extremely particular about their cars.. I've been considering a Fit, but I don't have one as of yet.. I use this in my 450hp Evo IX. Just checking around to see if anyone is interested, this is the best oil on the market.
Also, Mobil 1 Synthetic is actually not fully synthetic. They dropped a class down some time ago. This stuff, even with discount will cost much more than a jug of Mobil 1. Plus, I don't think any oil change is so desperately urgent that you gotta run to wal-mart and get it rather than wait 3 days.
That is pure BS. If you were talking about Castrol or another brand I would agree, but for Mobile 1 it is just not true.
Actually it's not. Most fully synthetic oils are at the very least 70%. There are very few that are 100%, and Amsoil is one of them. Last time I checked, Mobil 1 is a Class III synthetic oil. By law, Class III synthetics are allowed to be called fully synthetic, but they are not.
meevo is right. I don't know him and I don't know anyone at Amsoil, but I use it because I've done my homework. There's a ton of info on oils you can google. Don't trust the propaganda on the side of the bottle. People say Mobil 1 is the best but they can't tell you why except that Mobil says so. I'm just naturally scepticle of what a multi-billion dollar company says is good for me. Get the facts and it's not hard to figure out that Amsoil comes out near the top of the heap in all kinds independent testing. Thats worth a few dollars more a quart I think

2009 TW MT Sport w/nav...finally!
I had been debating to make the switch to amsoil ever since i bought my fit. I decided purely based on money savings that I will go on ahead and buy it. For my fit it will be around 70$ for one oil change with amsoil. 4 oil changes with straight regular 5w20 would be around 80 for me. Seems like something I will give a shot.
Going for a 1 year 25,000 mile oil change has me skeptical, but I have noticed a few other fit owners doing it and I am gonna take the leap.

I've been using Amsoil in an Odyssey, a Civic and a S2000. Very satisfied with their oils, in fact the mileage increase per tank/vehicle helps pay for the oil itself. I will be using Amsoil in the Fit when it's fully broken in.

Don't believe anything that dealer tells you ever again. It says right in your owners manual that synthetic can be used.
Anyhoo..
Amsoil is a good product.
Mobil 1 is a good product.
Your car will do just fine with either one. I won't say more because I would just be talking out of my ass like most people on the internet when they talk about oil.
yeah meevo, you are correct. I stand corrected. The one thing I don't agree with is the 70% figure, but I can't find anything for or against that. I know both oils are highly refined so arguing over creation vs actual results is moot in a way.

I can tell you as a person that built racing 911s on a professional level that Mobil 1 is indeed one of the best. Amsoil might be up with them, but honestly I have not tested Amsoil on the track. We have tested other oils, quite a few in fact, and most never performed well on the track. With a dry sump oiling system that Porsche has, you couldn't ask for a better delivery system, but yet a lot of oils failed. Mobil 1 was one we never had fail due to heat, stress, or load.
When tearing apart a racing engine or just a plain old 911, I could easily tell who used good oil and changed it frequently. Those that used Mobile 1 had zero lubrication issue and their engines looks like brand new from top to bottom.
Anyway, yea not really looking for business, I seriously don't make almost any money off of it at all, just letting you guys know if anyone wants hook ups!

Mobil 1 is a good product.
So is Royal Purple, Redline, but it does not mean jack if you don't do regular maintenance, look at the color of your oil and smell of it. Also for one I would not trust going a year without changing your oil I could care less what any data anyone can have. Air flows through your engine, dirt will get in there one way or another and it will end up in your system eventually. This isn't the 70's, mixing oils will not foam. Oils have come along way, regular maintenance is key, period.
Also, with oils coming from a selling point, everything that you read, heard or told is a gimmick to sell. Coming from the heavy duty world of diesel I've seen it from Chevron,Mobil1,and AmsOil. Not any different than say Cat Filters. They are great but they also cost $$, but again you have Donaldson,Napa,Ironman Air and Oil filters that are just as good for less $$.
No one knows for certain what M1 is using for base stock except M1. The group III speculation began on bitog a few years ago but has never been proven. Either way, it consistently turns in outstanding UOAs. Not saying AMSOIL isn't an outstanding product, but it's not necessary to trash M1 in order to sell it. Besides, doesn't AMSOIL still buy it's group IV basestock from ExxonMobil? Either way, this post spreads another fallacy-that the use of group III base stock is detrimental. Group III shares pratically every single property with group IV except for, in most cases, extreme cold flow characteristics. Mixed in with a modern high-end additive pack and other base stock chemistries, the difference becomes even more non-existent. Most "speculation" no longer hinges on whether or not M1 is group III but rather on what the percentage is, if it does. Pennzoil Platinum (along with pretty much all other mass market synths) is group III, even cheaper than M1, and turns in incredible UOAs.

I don't think it's once been said that Mobil 1 is an inferior product nor harmful at all.. All I've ever said was that they've dropped a class, to iii, which was proven (not 100% sure, relatively recent within 1 year?), and that they are not a fully synthetic in that they are 100% synthetic which is true. It's also true that the laws regarding this allow companies to call synthetic oils that are not 100% synthetic "fully synthetic".
In all honesty, there's not going to be a LOT of variation short-term nor long term between the different synthetic oils. But I can definitely guarantee my Evo runs better with it from my own personal experience. Engine runs smoother, I honestly get noticeably better gas mileage (~2mpg, noticeable on an Evo lol), and I have 100% peace of mind running it in the car. This is why I've stated, this is for those who are most anal about their cars. Let the independent testing show the results
