WTB: Honda Fit Sport w/ Manual TW (Orlando, FL)

I am ready to purchase a Fit but I haven't been having much luck with dealers. Does anybody in Florida have any dealers they recommend? I am willing to wait for an '10 and will travel if the deal is worthwhile.

NOTE: If this is located in the wrong place, can the mods please move it. Thank you.

$30,000 and its yours

But just go to the dealer, they can usually track one down for you or order one if you really want. Thats what I did with mine.

Simply stated... I haven't had much luck seeing I still do not own the car. Even though I have contacted and been too multiple dealers in Florida. The price I want to pay is one that isn't ridiculous. I like the Fit, but it is not a 20k car. The vehicle is the one in this threads title, which is a Honda Fit Sport w/ Manual in Taffeta White. I know the want of an exact model will make it harder to find, but I am willing to wait.

Thanks for the deal.

I went to the dealer and all of them except one said they currently are sold out in the state. The dealer who could receive the car is asking too much for it.

Selling Price:
$16,930.00 Sales Tax (estimate): + $1,089.11
Tag/Registration Fees (estimate): + $498.75
Tire/Battery/MVWEA: + $8.50
Dealer Service Fee: + $699.95
Balance Due (estimate):
$19,226.31

The selling price is above MSRP, plus a tire/battery/MVWEA fee, and a dealer service fee. This is also for an '09.

You should definitely be able to get below your estimated price. I'm looking for a 2009 Fit Sport Automatic. Not much available, but have been able to price it online from a few dealers for $18,500 out-the-door. And that includes 7.75% sales tax.

699.95 for a "Dealer Service Fee"?!?

wtf is that?

I'm getting a quote of 20,642 (that includes taxes and all fees)... for a '09 Fit Sport Auto w/Navi.

Yeah I do not think I will be getting a steal on this car, but just looking for fair pricing.

Anybody have any recommendations for a dealer?

That "dealer service fee" could be to have the car transported from a distant dealership. Ask them what the fee is for.

Using the Vehix search (which has some dealers, not all dealers), I only found THREE TW Sport Manual...in the US. One in Colorado, one in Oklahoma, one in Missouri.

North Carolina came up in Auto Trader, that might be closest?
2009 Honda Fit Manual Sport White Hatchback 4 Dr.. A Honda Fit at Parker Honda Morehead City NC

You will have to pay for transporting the vehicle, one way or another, if it's from a distant dealer.

You can do work online.

Use the "request a quote" services, available right on the main Honda page:
Request a Quote - the Official Honda Web Site

Then THEY do the work finding the vehicle. And you have several dealers to choose from as far as the price.

Or, you can contact one of the dealers that already have the car. If the $700.00 is a transportation fee, can you transport it yourself for less? As in take a flight, do the deal, stop at a room for the night, and have a nice, long, pleasure drive (no hurry) home.

Turn it into a vacation. You will want to vary the speed anyway on breaking in the car. So drive by some brilliant fall foliage. Take pictures. Stop somewhere quaint for lunch.

Better still is to make the drive back a two-day trip, so there is plenty of time to explore some scenery or whatever catches your fancy.

To do that, you want to iron out all the wrinkles online and by phone to have a cemented deal. If you have your financing taken care of before the dealer, you can go up with a check, or possibly have the credit union or financial group forward on the money.

So much depends on how much TIME you have. If you don't have the time, then you have to pay for someone to do the job of transporting the car. If you do have the time, you can turn the job into a small vacation for yourself.

TaffetaWhite, thanks for this reply. You gave me a lot of useful information and a better understanding of that fee. I'll post an update in this thread once I get the car.

I don't know for SURE if that is what the fee is for, that's why I suggest asking them.

If it IS for transporting the vehicle, you can check around too, there are lots of transport companies, here's just one:
Auto Transport | Car Shipping | Instant Quote Online | 800.665.5022

They have a quick quote online, which I did for Morehead City, NC to Orlando, FL, and it's

Priority Pickup is typically 1-3 days, Delivery is 1-6 depending on the route
$645

Economy
Pickup is around 4-10 days, Delivery is 3-14 depending on the distance
$545

You can check it yourself, and check the other dealerships too, to see how much the price changes by distance.

So that amount is about the right amount to transport a vehicle, if that is what the fee is for.
