AC and Defrost Question

Unlike my last car, a '98 Corolla, the AC comes on in both the defrost/feet mode AND full defrost. On the Corolla the AC light would come on, with the Fit it does NOT come on. Is this normal? TIA!

I do know the AC comes on when you turn on the defrost, I also know my AC light also doesn't come on when I turn on the defrost. So, I don't know if this is "normal", but the same thing occurs in my Fit.

Yes this is normal. As per the manual:

Select [Defrost]. The system
automatically turns on the A/C (if
equipped). The A/C indicator will

not come on if it was previously off.
