GTSPEC's New GE8 Braces.. Review
I planned on writing this a couple of days from now but after 3 hrs of driving I can safely start this review. These are just my unbiased opinions and I am not affiliated in any way aside form parts received. Big Thanks!
I headed over to gtspec today for test fitting of their new braces for our GE8's. On the menu was a 2 point Mid Chassis Tie Brace, Front Lower Tie Brace and a 6 Point Mid Chassis Brace. I took a gander at a brace for quality and looks and I was not disappointed. From the welds to the finish they were spot on A+ quality. It's too bad that they are hidden under the car for the ground to see but they are not made to be pretty.
When I arrived I was welcomed in and handed a catalogue to keep me busy while Calvin and the guys went to work and work they made quick of. It helps when you have good fitting quality parts and guys that are very knowledgeable. I was chomping at the bit to get in to the back to see what was going on but reverted to pacing around looking at all the parts that I would love to have. Just as I was going to start pulling out what hair I have left I was escorted to my car for inspection. I was very pleased with what I saw. Everything bolted right up and it made the rest of my undercarriage look in need of some TLC They look that nice.
Now for the real good... I was asked to give it a go around the block to check for issues. They asked me to take it easy BUT how can I do that.. Really! So I tipped toed out and as soon as I got out of sight I got on it. What I felt immediately was more G-Force from the car sticking to the pavement. I am lowered on Drop Zone springs and they did take some of the roll out but these braces took it to another level. I feel like I'm better connected to the pavement and the response is much better. I have a better feel with the feedback I'm receiving. To make sure I took it to one of my favorite roads to give it a good shake down and man was I smiling. It is a 5 mile stretch with tight undulating corners and nice changes in elevation with little to no houses (safety first). I went as far as to plant myself to the door a couple of times but did not want to put too much on the tires (original rubber ) so I kept it within it's limits. The car not once felt like it wanted to get away from me and it just wanted to keep going. I feel a big difference in powering through/out of corners. The car stays planted and in contact to the pavement giving you more control and feel = . One big surprise was how well it handled at highway speeds. Overcast windy day + tractor trailers = white knuckles. Lowering the car helped a bit but I was very surprised how the ride is now. It felt like I was driving my old Accord. It makes sense stiffening the chassis would help but I was surprised how much.
I'm no expert in this field but do have some credibility. I'm a Production Manager in a Manufacturing facility in Eastern LI supplying the Yachting world with one of the best Helm Seats made and supply our Govt with equipment to fight against terrorism and to protect our great land. I've done everything from sanding/deburring parts to programming and tooling CNC machines. I do know something about quality and I'm not afraid to use it .
I like to thank the guys at GTSPEC for the opportunity and hope to work with them again. I left confident that they are dedicated to giving us quality parts that work and they will continue to do so with our interest and demand. So head over and take a look. The bars are listed in the "New items" section with pics of the install. Welcome | www.gtspec.com

Do like the extra mounting points on the front/mid bar compared to the Laile (Beatrush) bar that I have. Need to check my rear end if that other bar will bolt up. Definitely some nice pieces GTSpec has released.

Strengthen the chassis further. Not really a way for it to be cosmetic as it sits under the car, who would see it? They definitely stiffen up the lower member by tying it to different parts of the undercarriage.

i dont see how the mid bar stiffens as much as the other bars. i dunno. the 6 point (or 5point as the website calls its) bar looks very nice (esp since the other bars out there are only 4 point)...although its very pricey. I'd prolly get that and the front lower tie bar. thanks for the write up and pics.

I'm real happy with the install and after this mornings addition I'm even happier. I will have a follow up review within the next couple of days. Just waiting for the guys to post pics up on thier sight.

I was told this morning that it will probably be handled like a group buy in order to get the parts produced. If 10 people can get together on a piece then they will bring it over. I'm sure one of the guys will come on soon and get us up to speed on the details. I'm doing my best to do my part which is show up with vehicle, let the guys do thier thing and drive away like I stole them . I know it's hard but I will continue to make the sacrifice .

LOL
Yeah, right when you posted I went on their site--to the products section 09 Fit and checked out the pic and description.
I'd be in for a group buy. Doesn't look like my wheels are gonna be in stock anytime soon anyways.
