help: what is for maintence code "2"
hi, my maintenance minder shows "2" on screen which asks to replace air cleaner element and to replace dust and pollen filter. I want to do it by myself however I am really new to this. I did some search online also here, and i understand the dust and pollen filter is the squarr-shape filter right under the hood & beside the engine (right? is it so called cabin filter?), but what is the air cleaner element? is it the filter for making the air fresh (the one below the glove box as some others talked about?). Could any one help me with these questions? thanks.
btw, mine is a 09 fit sport.

Quote from the 2008 Fit manual, it should be similar.
The "air cleaner element" is the air filter for the engine, it is located under the hood, in the air box. To change it should be a matter of undoing the air box lid, swapping filters and locking the lid back in place.
The "dust and pollen filter" is also known as the "Cabin Air Filter", it is located behind the the glove box. Just open and remove the contents of your glove box, push in the sides of the glove box so it will drop out, and look for the tray that the Cabin Air Filter sits in. Its just a matter of pulling the tray out, swapping filters, reinserting the tray and closing the glove box.
Replace air cleaner element - If you drive in dusty conditions, replace every 15,000 miles (24,000 km).
Replace dust and pollen filter - If you drive primarily in urban areas that have high concentrations of soot in the air from industry and from diesel-powered vehicles, replace every 15,000 miles (24,000 km).
