Wheel alignment= warranty?

Would my 09 that's still under warranty be covered for a wheel alignment. My tires at 23K miles are almost gone and I see some additional wear on the fronts, so I'm thinking an alignment is required prior to new tires. And yes, they get rotated.

Unfortunately, unless you get goodwill assistance or have a repair under warranty that requires an alignment as part of the repair it is not covered. Alignments fall under what are called "adjustments" which are covered for the first 12 months or 12k miles, whichever occurs first.

FWIW, 23k is not uncommon for the first set of Fit tires, mine showed significant
wear, not to the wear bars but quite notable around 20k. Your mileage may vary....

My original Dunlops only lasted around 20-22k miles before I needed to replace them. The alignment was fine as I get it aligned at least every 3rd month or so (5 year alignment deal), and I rotated the tires, I just drive aggressively.

Given the cost of tires, and the safety of a bad alignment, I am a big proponent of getting an alignment at least once a year, if not twice a year, depending on road conditions (Atlanta has some pretty horrendous roads).

If you do the same deal that I did with the 5 year alignment, you pay more up front, but get free alignments for the remainder of the term.

A bad alignment can eat through tires in months, and a really bad alignment in weeks, and it makes your handling unpredictable in emergency situations, so make sure you get that taken care of, they can usually do it with a new set of tires, which would be a good time to have it done.

that folks for the replies...my wife found a statement in the warranty book...first 12 months only. Yea, the stock tires are really crap and based on what I'm seeing in terms of wear patten an alignment is needed.
