Sport "conversion" and mugenization in progress :D
So, I snagged a very well loved, low mileage LX fit a few months ago. I have a supercharged Si as my fun toy, the fit is my daily - but the daily needed some personality.
I decided it's time to show the car a bit more love, so here we go.
bought:
Sport oem front bumper
sport oem fog lights
sport oem fender liners
all wireharnesses, and switch for the fogs ("base" model fog switch)
mugen front lip
mugen side skirts
mugen rear lip
mugen front grill
mugen shift knob
(part numbers for the fogs/wire harnesses, etc at the bottom)
Sport front headlights (chrome, as mine were the black housing)
Enkei EV5 Bronze rims, 17x7 +45 offset
Tein S-Tech springs
Tint %5 rear windows, %10 front driver/passenger windows.
the front bumper and back bumper (it had some scratches) are being refinished/painted today. we test fitted everything, fit's like a glove.
i'm in niagara falls canada. any other mugen fits in ontario?
the day the parts arrived:
Si loaded up with Mugen parts! (and Sport model fender liners, needed for conversion)
1 of 2 oem fogs needed for the sport bumper (also got the harnesses, dash button, etc)
Sport model headlights (chrome instead of the black plastic, looks better on white fits)
lol@replica parts......
the grill:
the grill looks way bigger and nicer than this pic shows:
legit mugen shift knob:
rear lip:
shitty pic of the front lip:
[/quote]
in the shop yesterday:
OEM sport front bumper
grill:
parts/oem finder liners
rear lip
front lip (the sides are in the wrapping)
test fitment today:
test fitting the bumper before paint and the mugen package...no issues at all with fitment. there isnt any screws or clips holding anything on here, just the bumper support and the lip is just sitting on. fits awesome (the grill fits amazing too).
the rear bumper is off and being refinished also. once it's done, the 2 bumpers go in the booth and the whole car is getting a claybar/buff/polish done. (i wish i could easily remove that 3m rock guard off the front, hate it)
OEM honda fog lights:
part numbers for the fog lights, wire harnesses, switch, fender liners:

74101-TK6-A00 - FENDER, R. FR. (INNER) (1)

the bumper i got for like 400? then i had to get the center grill of the bumper (early warning, there's 2 sport bumpers, one with a detachable grill and one without! i had to also buy the grill).
the fender liners i got from college hills honda. i'll check my invoice, they were under 100 each or something i think.
you will be able to keep the button on your dashboard for the fogs and that part of the harness. i dont think the fog harness for the base model fogs works on the sport fogs. so you'd need that harness too (part # is listed above).
dont do the 2012 sport bumper. no mugen stuff fits on it as 2012 was a "Refresh" design...

the base has it, but where it goes under the bumper from the fender well, the base model liners dont line up right or clip into the sport bumper - hence why they are needed. you COULD just cut the bottom of the base model ones, where it goes under the bumper, but - i wouldnt, esp if you drive in areas that have crappy winters, dirty roads, etc.

about the fogs.. do you have any idea if i can simply keep my base foglights and stick them into the sport fog housing? that way i dont really have to worry about harnesses

im talking about the lower grill, between the fogs...not the upper grill with the emblems.
and no, you cant keep the base fogs and put them into the sport fog housing - as the fog housing and light/lense are all one unit. plus, the way the fogs mount into the bumper are completely different.
cant really cut corners on that......

so to sum up the parts i would need:
sport bumper with grill
L R front fenders
Harness to fogs(connects to base fog switch)
Sport fog assembly
plus i gotta get the bumper painted... better start saving up lol!

from yesterday:
my si and one of the shop employees cars.
the lip on the bumper. not bolted up or 3m'd on yet - and the fitment is still amazing. (was bolted up right after this pic)
test fitting the rear bumper and skirt
side skirts on (back bumper not fully bolted on at the sides yet)
foglights in, front grill test fitted (im so happy with the paint match):
front lip on :
grill on, 3m not adhered yet...fitment is awesome.
from today. more pics tonight. she's 99% done.

I like the rear Mugen. Just can't love the winglets on the front. Sort of makes the car nose heavy appearing. Just my opinion which doesn't count.
Hey may see you sometime as not that far away Nic.

todays update:
shit iphone pics. good DSLR ones coming!
UPDATE: Rims will be here TUESDAY!!!!! WOOHAW.
i have some i can post up. engine bay shots, etc. i'll post em up tomorrow when i take better shots of the fit
yep, im in the niagara region. often in brantford, sometimes in toronto.
are you going to honda-tech? i'll hopefully be bringing both of my cars there. (i'm volunteering). i'm also on jdmrides.ca ...
for me, i actually like the front more than the rear. i wasn't going to do the rear as my bumper had the rear "skirts" on the sides: but i just couldn't do it on the front/sides/grill and not the rear too.
and, the setup isn't for everyone. but from what i can see thus far, i dont think anyone else in ontario has a complete (grill/front/sides/rear) authentic mugen kit? (i could be wrong)
my rims can't come soon enuff....

I agree. I like my chrome ones. Like the Mugen grill but I have a hood deflector so would distract from one on my car.

so where did you end up ordering your mugen stuff from? i'll more than likely be getting my lip from the states, unless you have a place that you know of here in canada that has a good price? lol. honda here, "can't" order the lip themselves. the part number isn't valid. lol. so i'm looking for somewhere that i can get it for a good price. keenan honda in the states is winning by a long shot so far.
oh, and the car looks great! wish i had of been able to get a white one when i got mine. keep the pics coming!
