Rear defroster won't auto shut off anymore after retinting windows

I had the whole car retinted darker the last summer, and i noticed that my rear defroster no longer has an auto turn off feature after it has been turned on?

is there some kind of way to make it autoshut? I wasn't sure if the shop somehow triggered something to always have it on so that it the window tint would be easyer to take off.

i just tend to forget about things and that auto shut off thing is kinda of nice

perhaps you guys are right... i have had too many cars.. and i could have sworn the fit had it!!! i live at the beach now and i RARELY ever use the defroster because it never gets cold enough.. so perhaps thats why i never really noticed it until recently

This.

My defroster light is wonky, sometimes it's is lit and sometimes the light is just off, but this happens no matter if my defroster is on or off, I think it's just a connection issue. Gonna take my car in for a bunch of little issues under warranty but want them all done at the same time.

Another issue is my driver's side "marker light" on the headlight sometimes does not work, other times it does, i've seen more than one Fit with this on the road and they have been newer than mine.

Um... that could just be a burnt out bulb. It doesn't matter if the car is old or new. All it has to do is go through thermal change too quickly, which would cause it to break. The break is small... and if it is jiggled "just right" for some electricity to arc, that can make it warm up and expand just enough to stay in contact.

But yeah, its a burnt out bulb. I just replaced mine last month for the exact same reason (it would occasionally come on).

replace it, simple as that. when you pull the bulb out, you'll find it nice and... burnt.

Yes I suppose that change in temperature could have been the issue, I just thought either the filament is either broken or not broken. The light isn't any dimmer and it works more times than it doesn't (i've only seen it out once or twice in the last month). It was a very cold night when I noticed it.

Thanks for that insight

Wish it did have auto shutoff. I keep forgetting to turn mine off. Someone must be doing a DIY soon I would hope.

I concur on the lack of auto shut-off I hated that the integra (or was it the altima.. or both) would automatically turn off the rear defroster, especially during snow storms where the snow would "cake up" on the rear window. Not having to push the button every 10 or 15 minutes is nice.
