Ratling sound coming from shifter
I purchased a '13 Fit Sport 5MT last October. I drive a lot, and have about 8000 miles on it. A few weeks ago, I noticed when I would shift into 5th it would sometimes feel strange. Not hard to get into, but just not as smooth as the other gears.
And most times, not all, when I am in 5th I will hear a rattling sound between 55-65 MPH. Anything above or under and nothing. If I rest my hand on the shifter and apply light pressure down, or to the right, the rattling goes away. If I let off the accelerator or press the clutch, it will also go away.
I do find that when I can slide into 5th smoothly, I will not hear the noise.
I sent an email to my service department to get it checked out but figured I would ask here.
I also might as well ask, is it normal for 2nd gear to also feel different shifting into than any other gear? It is not hard to, but it just feels different. This is only when shifting from 1st into 2nd, and never when downshifting. Almost like a "click" sound.

I can answer the second question, yes it is a little different, if you're a little quick with the clutch. I had the same "snick" sound and feel you describe. If you are a littlw more deliberate with the clutch and make sure your foot is to the floor before moving from 1st to 2nd, it doesnt happen. I've gotten so used to adjusting for it that I can only get it to make that noise on cold mornings.
