Sun Shade Anyone have this one?

Looking for a decent sunshade. This one looks like it might work.
Anyone have one? Opinions?

Intro-tech versus Heatshield

Anyone compare this to the
shade from Heatshield shade from Heatshield
? I like that the Heatshield wraps around to cover the little triangular A-pillar windows as well, but the cost of the Heatshield is 70% more than the Intro-tech one linked above.

Is the extra coverage of the Heatshield worth the extra cost? Is one easier to install/remove than the other? The cost difference is only like $5 once I factor in shipping and tax, so I'm leaning toward the Heatshield unless someone wants to talk me out of it.

If the pillars are already tinted, not sure if it's worth the difference.

I'm not sure the corner window shading helps a whole lot either. They aren't large windows, and the coverage isn't 100% perfect. It certainly doesn't hurt anything having the flaps, but I wouldn't pay very much extra for them.

The heatshade model is slightly unwieldy to put in and take out, and I suspect the other one is quite similar in that regard. This has more to do with the size and shape of the windshield than anything. The velcro tape to keep the shade rolled on the heatshade model does end up very close to the passenger door hinge when it's unfurled, and perhaps might get caught on occasion if you aren't careful (and are opening and closing the passenger door). I can't say I've actually seen it get caught myself, but it looks like it could be an annoyance.

I have the sunshade that covers front windshield, corner windows, driver and passenger windows. It's awesome now that summertime is coming

I just use a Dollar Store one. It protects the dash and steering wheel. Seems to help somewhat.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I understand the Heatshade is unwieldy but given the size of the windshield, it doesn't seem that there is a very "simple" option. My wife is the main user of this car, and I'm not certain that she'll use it since she tends to have a low patience level for dealing with stuff like this. However, I'm thinking that having to get into a sweltering car a couple of times might convince her of the utility of the shade.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm really not as concerned about protecting the dash and wheel as I am in trying to minimize the greenhouse effect of all that glass heating up the interior. Because of that I'm willing to pay a little extra for something that is "custom fit".

I think I'll go ahead and try the Heatshade. I'll report back here after I have a chance to use it for a bit.

I bought this one from Amazon, good quality and folds down small enough to put in the passenger seatback

This shade plus my tinted windows make the car much much cooler

I bought a 2009-2012 Honda Fit INTRO-TECH on Amazon:

2009-2012 Honda Fit INTRO-TECH Sunshade : Amazon.com : Automotive 2009-2012 Honda Fit INTRO-TECH Sunshade : Amazon.com : Automotive

I bought it for my 2013 Fit, and it fits fine. It looks very much like the one linked to in the original posting. It works very well and is not particularly cumbersome, IMHO. I have a review on the Amazon page.

The shade seems to be available for a while on Amazon, and then sold out, and then available again. So if it says it is not available, try again in a few days.

07/15/13 Edit: I have noticed that the cheapest Amazon partner selling this shade is Majestic Auto Parts. It costs $29.99 plus about $6 shipping. Sometimes Amazon will show a different vendor with a higher price when you first look at the shade. You need to click the link that says something like "3 new from $nn.nn" to find the lowest price. This is kind of odd because I always thought Amazon showed the lowest first, but not in this case. The one that comes up today is for $34.95 = $7 shipping and ships in 6 to 10 days. Majestic is cheaper, lower shipping, and ships within a few days.
