The only concern for me is will there be parts in the long run? I just bought a Fit on the 1st and is planning to drive it around 40k-50k miles a year and keeping it for around 5 years. I know ill be using this car pretty hard and I want to know if ill have parts available to replace OEM parts.
I doubt you will have to worry about honda discontinuing parts for our Fit. I think the real question is will the US plant be making OEM parts for the JDM Fits that are in the US or do we have to wait for parts from Japan any time we need something.
look at the 2002-2005 civic si (EP3) some parts are exchanges with the RSX (DC5) plus tons of aftermarket!
with Fit.... within a 5 years or so, you can bump it up with a k20! theres already aftermarket coilovers, intake system, performance intake filter, lights, accessories....
don't give up so soon...! it has plenty of life regardless if its 3 years or 2... its just the beginning and technology is running a lil slow because they don't really know the demand for these things yet....
says its the hybrid , but , it looks like a re-style so , who knows
plus the US market gets a civic type-r next year too , same engine as the Si but different badges , so people will pay more, rumoured that they will release a 2.4 liter 250 hp engine, but . .
buddah, not trying to offend you or anything but these images were there for past half a year at least. every one who cares already seen those. besides if you noticed they all different from each other, so you can't know which one is is we going to get next.
Does it really matter if we've seen it before? I hadn't or don't have any memory of seeing any of these pics and I'm sure any rumored new design photo is all over these forums somewhere. I think it's kinda nice to see all the photos on the same page instead of having to scroll through 10 pages of a thread that started way back when. Besides by this point it's hard to come across an original thought or comment about the car. I rarely come to this site but when I do I always read the same things.
New, bigger Jazz on the way The Jazz looks set for a major tune-up...

Taped-up arches prove car is testing parts for next Jazz
When an Auto Express reader spotted this Honda in a motorway service station, it stood out because of its scrappy taped-up wheelarches.
On closer inspection, it was clear this was no ordinary Jazz, but a mule being used to test parts for the firm's next-generation supermini. After the success of the new UK designed and developed Civic, Honda's British arm is now playing a major role in the Jazz project. But the big news is that the car will be offered with a diesel engine for the first time.
This spyshot shows how the five-door will be bigger all-round than at present. Sources in Japan have revealed that the fresh model will use the same basic chassis as its predecessor, retaining the groundbreaking central fuel tank.
The current car's clever five-seat layout, which sees the folding rear bench hinge down into the floor, is already class-leading, and it's set to be carried over with only a few minor tweaks. Other upgrades will include a fresh dashboard design and better materials throughout. The existing model's 1.2 and 1.4-litre petrol engines are likely to be retained, but these will be joined by an efficient small-capacity oil-burner.
The new Jazz is expected to make its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in October, before going on sale in 2008.
Wow I bought the car last week now it seems to be getting replaced soon. Either way I still have a great car with excellent gas mileage and if it is rare that's even cooler. Anyone complaining about the engine power should not have bought a fit.
Ep3 owners wish they had an RSX type S
RSX owners add I/E/H so they could race WRXs from a roll.
Wrx Owners wish they had an Sti
Sti owners wish they had the power potential of Evos
Evos owners mod the hell out of their car because they aren't satisfied
Nothing will ever be the best or newest for long. When the WRX went from a 2.0 litre to a 2.5 litre the 2.0 owners had wiener envy.
My point is, Don't worry about having the best because something will always be better/newer.
Appreciate what you have and make the most out of it.
Anymore news on the 08 Fit? New models are usually released in Fall, so we should be hearing somthing soon. I'm speculating that the 08 Fit will be a late 07 or early 08 release due to the redesign of the Jazz, or maybe Honda will do a carryover year for 08 and make the fit all new for the 09 model year.
The only info I can find is from summer 06, there's got to be an insider somewhere...
That Civics looks similar to the Fit. Is this the rumoured new 5 door Civic that will be sold in Asia? It supposed to be different from the Euro Civic hatch and slightly larger. I'd love to see them sell that here in North America.
EDIT: I did a search at that site and realize the pics are from 2004.
