As for the slim chance of a digital anything going wrong in a Honda, there's still a chance.
My driver side window (Civic...which is manual) goofed and thankfully, a friend of mine is a mechanic, he popped the panel open and fixed it...cost? $0.
Anything can go wrong with most things, digital or electronics in general are slightly more prone to it.
The digital and electronics will just cost more to repair.
If you don't need, I don't recommend getting it.
More headaches, that's all.
My opinion differs, just like others will agree and others (like yourself) won't.
I think digital clock/temperature readouts are pretty "standard" on cars nowadays, so my comment wasn't on the fact it exists but that I thought that particular one looked
If you want to talk about needless features I agree - look at "rain-sensing" windshield-wipers. Hope you never have to fix a crack or replace your windshield for $1,000. Ludicrous, but eventually all cars will probably have them and it won't be a choice.
If they're going to slap me with a doo-dad at least make it a cool-looking doo-dad is all I'm sayin'...

A new Fit in '08 sounds good to me-- I remember the '63 Corvette had a split rear window, then for '64 they removed the divider, and the '63's became instant classics, so an '07 Fit could be a "rare" Fit eventally, with a high resale value.

I completely agree and this is why I believe, if you can, avoid it.
"It" being anything that isn't necessary for you to drive the car.
The feature that sold me is the possibly of 10 cup holders!! 10 in a little car! Even if the U.S. version doesn't have the same center console then I hope those internet shops will sell them like the 1st gen.

That looks great man. I want your car lol. I wish the US got all that tech stuff on the inside. The nav option i doubt we get, that little digital temp guage we wont get, i bet we dont get the power folding mirrors, which i see yours has, we wont get a leather option.. Your Lucky!
I think Honda may offer the navigation system as a US$800 to US$1,000 option on the second-generation Fit, since more and more drivers want navigation systems. The automated climate control system will probably not be available, though.

That would be an insane deal for a OEM in-dash system. If you look around, OEM in-dash's are easy over 2000$. Even Scion's system for the xB and xD is 2000$. I expect the same for the Fit.

...
My Radio has a decent Dig Clock and for $160, my scanner will tell me WAY more than the most deluxe OEM trip meter.
O and if you read the Intake air temp (standard gauge on the SG2) most of the time it's the same as outside air temp....
have to ask
Do we have any idea what the EPA MPG rating is for the '09 Fit and what kind of extreme mpg eco it's capable of?

Damnit, I don't see the glass roof in this one. I love the USB connecter, navi, and steering wheel mounted audio controls, and how bout that dead pedal!!! I can't wait to find out more info. Now it's time to drop all my debt before the fall.
