aftermarket speaker issues
upon replacing the speakers im amazed at the design of the stock speakers. i ordered the ridgeline bracket after trying to rip out the factory speaker and re use that to mount the new one but it didnt fit right. anyway has anyone cut the speaker hole to a normal speaker circle not that weird shape and if so did it improve sound quality? also not sure im happy with the speaker i choose ..i rigged it up and was a bit dissapointed ..anyone have any suggestions?

Nearly all speakers have a break in time. Its been that way for my previous Pioneers, Alpines, Kickers, Focals, Polk Audio, Kenwoods, JVC, Sony, etc...
Even the factory speakers took several hours of music playing to sound better.
Currently I have front Kickers and the rear is OEM honda, and it sounds pretty amazing if you have a headunit that allows you to really dial in the music

Running Morel Tempo 6 components (150watts to each side) in the front nothing in the rear doors. I just cut my own rings out of mdf then screwed them onto the door and then speakers onto the rings. Overall not bad my only complaint is too many rattles that I need to troubleshoot even after deadening the doors outside skin and inside.
As far goes when they started sounding good.... probably about 12ish hours of playing. Before that they sounded worse than factory.
