102k and motors shot
Looking at a 09 with 102k miles and I think she's done. Popped of the oil cap and it had so much blowby it almost blew it out of my hand. I've always been taught that that's bad rings if you have air blowing out. Pulled the dipstick and there was only oil on the very tip.
So is she done?
If so I already located a 2013 motor with 5000 miles for $1100. Is that a straight swap?
If I can get it cheap enough I'll probably go for it. I'd have no problem swapping it.
Thanks for any answers and hopefully I'll be sticking around!

At 102.000 miles the engine should still be good and the only way to know if you are right is to do a compression test. It is not expensive and the kit is accessible. It is good do it "dry" and then seeing the difference with a bit of oil.

Relax your car is fine.
The pressure coming out of the valve cover is positive pressure that has built up. Something is clogging the positive crankcase valve, which is designed to relieve this pressure. Buy a new PCV valve and I stall it, it screws on to the valve cover. If you're not sure where it is, get a mechanic to replace it. The part is cheap and its quick so it shouldn't cost much.
If it were the rings, the blowby would be on the bottom of the engine, not the top. You wouldn't notice it like you described.
