Hi to ALL.I have a Honda Fit Sport 2010.I love this car.Right now my car has 70,193 miles and is doing a strange grid noise.Looks to me is from the starter and this noise show up ONLY in the morning.The thing is that it did NOT show up everyday.Is somedays.This is wierd.If you start the car in the morning and the noise show up in that day you can start the car 20 times more and it did not show anymore....Below is a link to download the video clip.Just hear it in .04 to .05 seconds.Do you know what can it be???ALL help is welcome.Thanks guys....

 

Had the same issue and drove like it for about 40k....

It was the starter and I should have replaced it when it first started. That said, I was able to replace it but it was a pain to do and I needed helped.

My 2013 Sport made that once or twice during cold start last year. Never again and I'm at 62k miles.

 

Hi there ommegga.Glad to me you.Thanks for answering my question and for you help.This noise looks to show up early in the morning.It happens some days and some days not.This is very wierd to me.NEVER see something like this before in ALL my other car that i have in the past.If the noise show up TODAY you can start the car 20 times more and it did not show up.Strange strange strange.Looks that temp is a factor here.Thanks for your input here in this thread.I had add to my friend list.Take care and Happy New Year 2016 to you too....

Hi there mike410b.YES....This is rare BUT here in PR is winter now.There are no snow BUT the temp drop a little than normally is in this season.I think that YES temp is a factor with this issue with the starter.They are days that the morning is more colder than others.I will wait for the days get more warmer in the morning.If this problem did not go away by itself then i think a new starter is the way to go.Will update as soon i fix it.Take care mike...

Update....Just today i replace my GE8 starter.My car has 75,541 miles and i live in Puerto Rico.Sometimes the weather is a little cold in the morning and i can't believe my GE8 was making this grind noise.I just replace the starter today and i'm watching if the problem is gone.I need to test the car a few days or weeks.A great friend do the job for me.He just ask me $50 for do the job.I don't have the right tools to do it.Nothing....I will update again in a few days.I hope this new starter will last longer than the one that came with the car....

 

I don't think 70 degree weather is the problem. I hope that fixes your problem.

 

Looks that i kill the cat that was inside my engine....It was the starter.

Thanks The Fitness.Yes...looks that the problem is fixed.Hate to start my GE8 in the morning and that noise pops out.The noise is gone.Yeah....Happy Fitting and surfing the streets with my Honda FIT Sport happy again.........
