To the OP: How much did the OEM trim pieces (a la fit nav and pilot ring) run you from Bernardi? -I tried searching their site but to no avail.

His links to Bernardi on the first post should work. The price for both is ~$46 for before shipping.

Ladies, Gents...

I'm reviving this post in hopes that a totally clear, concise, and definitive parts list can be compiled to top off this list for good. I truly appreciate the help, info, and opinions of the last six pages...now, how about the definitive list?

In two weeks I'll be installing a Kenwood DdX6019 into a 2009 Fit Sport. I'm hoping to pull it off with no hitches whatsoever. Any help would be appreciated, and thanks!

Also, thanks to all for making this a productive, mature, and friendly forum. Great vibe...^_^

All you need is these 3 Metra parts: 99-7877S, 70-1729, 40-HD10.. that the dash kit, harness connector and antenna adapter... Just installed a double DIN pioneer unit in my 09 Sport a few days ago...

Well, gee whiz. That was easy. What do you all suppose is the the best place to get this stuff? Any excellent and fair folks on here you recommend? Or some online store? Not being lazy, but reputation and word of mouth goes a long way.

I got the dash kit from Beach Audio, they were one of the few that had it in stock since it is fairly new... the other two parts should be available from any place that sells Metra gear, local or online...

One tip on the wiring - and I plan to make a separate post about this to make it more obvious to hopefully save others the trouble - the Metra harness adapter seems to have the "dimmer" and "illumination" lines swapped. The "dimmer" one goes from ground to +12 when the lights turn on. This is what the aftermarket HU's want. The "illumination" one, which is supposed to do what I just described actually is a variable voltage that changes when you dim the dash lights. Hooking this up the wrong way can lead to blown fuses or fried dash lights so it's important to test beforehand. I'm glad I did. I also downloaded the factory wiring diagram from Helm and it verified what I saw in testing - the "illumination" wire was being hooked to what the factory calls "ILL-" (pin 1 on factory connector, red wire) and the "dimmer" wire was being hooked to what the factory calls "ILL+" (pin 13 on factory connector, grey wire)... So bottom line, your HU's illumination wire needs to be routed to the grey ILL+ factory wire, regardless of how the Metra harness is labeled.

Other than that, everything else on the Metra harness matched up properly...
