If you don't mind me asking, how come you changed the sub? And are you going to mount the second amp to the side of it again, looked pretty clean that way and will probably make it easier to tether the kids seat.

I wanted less room taken up, which when I find the sweet spot for the box it will be mounted to the floor, I am gonna keep the amps on the seats they are out of the way that way, and the baby seat is fine as is, I have clear vinyl over the parts where it touches the amp to keep it from rubbing it.

Did a little testing and found placing the sub pointed up yielded a better response, also got the carpet in so I carpeted the box, bottom board and the supports that hold it in place.











Overall very happy with the results, more bass, more lower end bass, LOTS more SPL and I saved room in the hatch.

So I got my Big3 done, yes at 5am insomnia sucks . Anyway upgraded to a Shuriken BT35 under the hood, ran a second 4awg power from the alternator to the battery and a new 4awg ground instead of the whimpy 6awg from the factory. I plan on cleaning it up a bit as I had to fab a temp bracket for the power side till I can get to home depot and get some bus bar material to make a nice one, as well I am gonna clean it up a bit more too.

Nice and clean install in your trunk! Did you ever tried an aeroport for your boxes?

Steering and what not is fine, the mirror however that's another story. And I am running an aero port box now, there's another post about it in this section.

Hooray for big 3! Don't see too many people do this. Planning on doing mine in 1/0 when it cools down here...

Looks great. I've always been to lazy to upgrade anything but the ground strap. Do the DIY intake and you'll have room for a much much larger battery (not that the battery is anywhere near as important as the alternator). I regretted screwing my amplifiers to the back of my seats. When I removed them to mount the amplifiers where the spare tire used to be, the screw holes left on the seat were more noticeable than I imagined .

Good to know! I'll keep that in mind when I do my install later this year.

LoL I don't blast it with my daughter in the car even when she says "daddy turn it up" yes she's already a basshead at 2 & 1/2! Anyway, here's a shot of the box after I got some black stretch form on it today.



Oh and here is the new sub amp, sundown SAZ1500D.

Well I got a good deal on some 0awg today, so I removed the 4awg from the front to the rear and ran it. I have about 9ft left over and I am going to see if there is enough to redo the big3 wiring to 0awg tomorrow.

What's the voltage difference between 1/0 and 0 in your application?

Right now, nothing however if I recone my subs to dual 2ohm instead of the dual 4ohm they are now the amp will be pulling more current so the increase in wire will be more beneficial. However having larger wire now is only lowering the resistance to the back of the car which will cut down on heat when the amps are working hard or for long periods of time.

Did you use the same hole for the 0g as you did the 4g? If so, how hard was it getting it through the grommet? I have 0g in the garage from my last system, but but not sure if I want/need it when I get around to installing evrything else. Any pics of the 0g entry point?

Same hole, just opened it up a tad with my olfa blade. Somewhat difficult to get through but once it was past the grommet inside the engine bay it was easy since I pulled the airbox out.

Well redid the big3 wiring to 0awg today, had enough to do it plus a small piece left over, if I add a second battery I will need more but thankfully not another full roll.
