15's on a Sport?

Hey Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has gone with a set of 15's on their sports yet. I am considering getting a set of 15" RPF-1's because of their low weight of 9.6lbs per wheel. Only thing is I don't have any idea on what tire size to run without any rubbing problems. I will be lowering the car with a moderate drop and do not want to roll or pull my fenders. I was thinking about 195/50r15's since the offset on the wheels is +41mm. Anyone have any input on this idea? They also offer a 16" with a +43mm offset but I believe I would be able to get a lower total weight of wheel and tire with the 15's. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks, Evan

Why would you not recommend 15's? The base GE comes with 15's stock, though they are steel wheels with skinny tires on them. If you are saying 16's for looks that's another thing. It's not a matter of looks for me, I want to decrease the weight of each wheel. Less rotational weight the easier it is to get the car going which can equal more mpg and an improvement in handling.

bump, i'd also like to know about this. What downsides are there to getting 15's (other than looks)?

i have a base... and have 15" rims.. theres no difference in suspension geometry between the sport and the base fits... so there wont be a problem if u have the right offset...

as long as you dont have like 9" width wheels... then you dont have any issue with rubbing...

im running 205/50/R15 tires... no issues... wheels are 15"x6.5 +42 offset

Are you lowered at all, if so did you roll your fenders at all? I was considering going with a 15x7 simply because there are more of them that I like.

go 15x6.5 or b 7 +45 with a 195 55 15 tire... granted the car wont look good without a mild drop but you will achieve what your looking for
