17x7.5 too wide? offset?

Thinking about getting some new wheels & coilovers and want to go from my base 16" to 17". What offset do I need and how wide can I go without rubbing or needing any fender work? is 7.5 too wide already?

Thought about getting getting
Rota D2 17x7.5 4x114.3 +20

Although I've read up on the forums, I thought I'd ask those who have experience placing a 17" wheel on their GE8 and your recommendations including wheel size.

Any assistance from my fellow GE8 owners would be appreciated.

First the bolt pattern on those wheels is wrong. We have 4 x 100.
I doubt very much if those wheels will work. You will rub with that offset even on stock springs.

Here is a good thread to read https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...ng-thread.html

Thanks! I actually just finished reading that thread you mentioned. Guess I'll have to keep looking for a different wheel.

Actually I think I found the right Rota D2 4x100 17x7.5 +45. The question is if that 7.5 width will cause issues instead of a 7.0 like most have mentioned in the forums. Haven't found anything yet on 17x7.5 in the forums.

I'm running those same wheel spec with 205/40 tires, front camber bolts and tuck front fender liners. No rubbing for me. Here's a pic of my old fit for reference.

Wow!! Your ride looks freaking sweet! How negative are you on the camber? What suspension are you on? Thank you for the info. You might be the first person I've seen whose fit that actually looks perfect without being completely slammed. Im guessing this is your dd? How's the ride in 205/40?

I think camber was -1.2-1.4 on each side, not really to far out of specifications. I'm on tein basis coilovers.
Ride on the tires wasn't bad at all for me

Sweet! Looks killer! Whats the whole installation process like? Is it an easy install? Also, the bit right above the lip, right in the center, around the lower grill portion: Did you paint that part black?

Niiiice! I've seen your whole build thread. Looks really, really good. A couple questions for ya: Is that the "diy EZ lip"? What are the specs of your wheels? And, did you paint that part right below the lower grille black? Again, looks super clean!

Thanks. The wheels are 17x7.5 offset 42mm. The lip is the diy lip or the home depot lip, although i bought the garage seal from Lowes lol. But yeah if you go through my thread again I have the picture of the seal package and how i did it. Lastly, the center part below the grill I plasti dipped it black. Had it on there for 2 years now, holds up pretty well.
