205-50 vs 195-50 15s help!
Good day FF!
Been reading a lot of threads here regarding tire sizes for 15s and for GE8.
Since my stock are 16s with 185/55/16 profile, i change to a different set of rims with 205/50/16.
Though now im kinda into Track/Circuit racing, with the 205/50/16, i feel like getting out of the corner is really slow and will try to use 15s and lighter wheels.
Now im on a dilemma o choosing between the two. 205/50/15 and 195/50/15. Im really not looking into 195/55/15 unless you give a a good point aside from odo/speedo reading will be more accurate.
205:
- better traction whil track/circuit racing
- will protect 7" wide rims better
- heavier than 195/50
- closer odo/speedo reading compared to 195/50
Also, is there a significant loss in acceleration from 195 vs 205 because the 205s are heavier?
So with this, which would you prefer? This wheels will not be just for purely racing. I might even use this for daily.
TIA FF!

Wider tires will always provide more grip. And more grip is almost always faster (to an extend) and safer. It's proven mostly in autocross. :-) I would recommend the 205.
Also, not just the width but also the compound that you get is going to give you a different grip level. The BFG Rivals in 195 are going to provide you more grip than an All-Season 205 for example.

So are you saying that the additional weight of the 205 is worth-it vs the 195 given its the same brand and specs of tires?
