I've gotten 55K miles on stock dunlops and there is still 40% left to go.

That's almost 80 000 kilometers. What eats your tires so quickly? Did you discard them before they were fully worn out? Do you rotate tires?
Stock tires weren't good.

Why would you want 55k from them?

When I had my 2011, I told the dealer I didnt want the OE Dunlops as they sucked. They gave me Bridgestone Turanzas. Good alignment numbers and regular rotation I got 44k out of them before there was literally no tread left.

It's in your head. Just because you can "modify" something and buy another brand, you feel that what's on it is not "good" whatever that means.

The dunlops installed on my cars when new are perfectly good and there is no reason to not keep using them until they wear out.

You also should be conscious about the environment and use as few tires as possible. If everyone on the planet would consume as much as you or I, we would suffocate. If you ever go outside the US to countries like Philippines, eastern Europe, perhaps Africa, you will stop asking the kind of questions you just did.

There are so many factors for tires to wear.

- Road conditions
- Air pressure
- Driving style (aggressive, non-agressive)
- Maintenance (rotations, typically 5K is best)
- Traffic patterns

I'm very surprised to see that you are in the LA area and got that much on OE tires unless your driving long distances.

I'm not sure what killed them so quick. I rotated them regularly, never did any motorsports with them (though I do drive hard sometimes, I've never done any burnouts or anything on them or any thing like that). I mostly think it has something to do with the roads out here. They aren't very well maintained.

I just followed the maintenance minder. When I did my B service in March, they said the tires were pretty well done. I think the report showed 3/8 on all four corners.

You bought two newish Fits.

Why didn't you buy a 1996 Civic CX? Or a Yugo? Or Renault 4? Austin 7? Model T? Benz 3 wheeler? Horse and buggy?

BTW, I did replace my tires only once they were worn out. I also replaced them with low rolling resistance tires, because fuel economy. Tell me again about how wasteful I am?

Do you really think people in the Phillipines don't modify cars? You may want to tell Pinoys that. Same goes for Eastern Europeans, etc.

I'm at 41k miles and I have another 8-10k to go. These tires are lasting an incredibly long time.

The first winter I lost 3 tires to a bulge from small potholes which I have always been avoiding. I believe the low profile has something to do with it. They had less than 12k before the damage. I lost all 3 within 3 weeks of bad weather. If I decide to keep the car after the lease is up I will get something different in replacement tire. Stock tires are throw away tyres.

Original Tires Replaced

My 2012 Fit Sport needs a new set of tires at 28,800. Based on input from others on this forum, it seems about average for the tires that come with the car. I'll be replacing with Michelins. I'll update how these wear with time.

I replaced mine after 37k since I found a good deal from a local tire shop.

Mine have lasted 41k, but I had done no tire rotations or alignments since I bought the sport manual new in May 2012. I got the tires rotated last week. I should have rotated the tires sooner as the back tires (now front tires) have a lot of tread left, but the front tires are very worn. I'm looking at Yokohama Avid Ascends 185/55/16 or Michelin Premier A/S.

We just did tire rotation and the dealer is saying that the front ones (16 inch 185 Dunlops) that are now in the back should be replaced soon, and the car is at 23700 miles now. It seems like ours is wearing really quickly, with my mom usually driving in the city.

38,500 with no rotating- the rears weren't what you'd want to start winter with and the fronts were gone.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the Yokohama Avid Ascends work out- and they'll get rotated. I've never had a car that wanted them rotated as badly as the Fit.

I just replaced the original Dunlops on my 2013 Honda Fit base auto after just 27.5K miles and 3 years, rotating the tires whenever I got my oil changed (once a year for me). I got Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus (standard size: 175/65R15) 70,000 mile, limited warranty tires and my Fit rides quieter and handles a little better.

My sister bought a 4-wheel drive 2013 Honda CRV soon after I bought my Fit in Jan. 2013. She also replaced her tires in Feb. 2016.

I got my stock Dunlops replaced at about 32K miles. I was hoping they would last longer as I had them rotated every oil change and kept them inflated properly but they weren't great tires to begin with.

So I guess all things must end.

64 K miles on my 2012. OEM Dunlops have about 35% of thread left.

I am quite happy with these tires. Never had any problems.

Starting to look at replacement. Almost 5 yrs, so some surface weather cracking is becoming noticeable.

Considering Kumhos or Hankook

I've got H724s. They're a little loud but they're cheap and available at wally world but I had to order them. Got 34k out of the stock ones. They weren't completely gone but were getting sketchy in the rain so I changed them. Others may have a different threshold of what is safe/personally acceptable. 23k on the Hankooks now and they'll probably go 50-60k (warranty is 70k) before they get to the point I'll change them. No reason to risk your life over a $300 set of tires.
