Snow tires for 2009 GE8?

Question Snow tires for 2009 GE8?

I just moved to Colorado from Virginia and while I am totally use to snow, I am not use to snow like this. I was wondering if anyone had any good affordable recommendations for snow tires for 2009 GE8 that are good for snowy hills and all that jazz. Thank you!

I use blizzaks ws70. they served me very well, but we dont get snow here in NJ like u do there in Colorado. U may think about getting studded snow tires if its really deep.

WS80 should be fine.

Mrs. 410b has had no issues with her cheapo Goodyear snows up here in Wisconsin & we get a lot of snow (most winters).

Are you snow guys buying two tires, or are you putting snow tires on all four wheels? I realize that there is no power to the Fit's rear wheels, but what about traction in general?

U need four of the same tire or you will still lose traction

If you only have snows in front, the rear will tend to slide, resulting in oversteer.

Oversteer is very dangerous for novices, like all of us on here.

I am surprised. I thought everyone was going to say that they were only putting snow tires on the front.

I agree about running snows on all four.

I don't take tires lightly haha

Thus why I have snow tires & summers for my wife's Fit, two sets of summers for my fun car and will be replacing my all-seasons I put on my Fit with proper snows & summers shortly.

The amount of wheels I have in my tiny apartment storage unit is rather silly.

You only need to plan for 6" of snow or less. I'm not sure of the exact road clearance on a Fit but anything over that amount and you are not going anywhere without out the road being plowed first. As far as studs go, studs help on ice (snow packed roads) and not much in deep snow.

If you want a good cheap set of snows, go to TireRack.com and look at one of their snow tire packages with steel wheels. They will ship them already mounted and balanced including new lug nuts to match those wheels. We got a set a few years back for our 09 Fit and now use them on our '11 Fit. We change to them every fall and of course back again in the spring. It is now the time of year to take them off for this season. We do not bother with TPMS in the winter. Our winter tires do not TPMS sensors so we do not reprogram the TPMS twice a year. If the TPMS light on the dash bothers you, put a piece of tape over it in the winter.

There are sources of perfectly good factory comparable TPMS sensors out there,, about 125 a set if you shop hard.. My 07 don't have it so don't care..

The problem with going with different sensors on the winter tires is you get to pay Honda twice a year to reprogram your car with the changed sensor information.
