BTW So far my '08 VBP paint is holding up well, even with the better part of that time one second behind a Host 18 wheeler or other suitable large BOX pull sled.

Amazing how many own knows there are now for the '09 Fit.

I don't! I am just hoping! We gave Honda so much lip about it they would be insane not to improve it! I can't believe nobody started class action law suit for it! Hmm, now there is an idea!

Listen, I do not pamper my car. It is not a garage queen. I got it for a DD, but even taking into consideration general deterioration of paint quality due to environmental laws forcing us into water based paint, this paint job is a joke! It not just gets pitted easily, but you get scratches just washing it!
I live in apartment complex where car washing is not permitted. I took my car to car washes at first. Now I take it to a coin wash where I spend over $10 ($2.50 gives you 4 min of water) to wash it myself.
I first hose off with weak stream to get loose stuff off, then switch to higher pressure. Then I use 2 mitts and a bucket to wash it by hand (one for top and mid & higher portion of the sides, front and back, then a second mitt for side skirts, front lower lip and rear back lip as well as fender well edges & wheels). Then I pressure rinse it. I do not dry it with a towel or water blade, I just drive it on the FWY and let water streak off. Then I use microfiber cloth and Mothers detailer spray to take any traces off.

As much as I hate platypus look of the '09 as well as entire exterior with stock wheels and height, the car would look awesome with some window tint, lowered and OEM wheels painted like I did with my '07's for starters.
Interior improvements (with exception of pointless quantity of cup holders! I hate current '07 & '08 seat centers and door pattern inserts in gray!) are great as well as more comfort oriented suspension geometry. It is a much better start for suspension mods. Notice rear dampers slightly raked backward? Small details that make a difference!
Rear bumper meets the rear quarter panel a lot more backward and lower on the fender well eliminating any potential issues with a mounting screw rubbing on lower offset wheel set up's as we experience with '07 and '08.
This '09 is growing on me slowly! I can't believe it is and that I am saing it, but it is!
I would not mind having '09 Milano Red Sport. I would not mind going with A/T either. I am not a teenager anymore and I will end up commuting through rush hour traffic for my next job for sure. I will also need to drive my baby in her car seat in it as well. I still have my beast of a CRX for weekend kicks on track.

Even if it is built in US, with all the improvements I would switch to '09. My breaking decision point is the paint quality!

My God some purists here will hang me high!

Ivan
