Tanabe Medallion Touring Exhaust - Installed!

Installed my Tanabe Medallion Touring exhaust this evening - took about an hour including tools out to everything put away (longest task was getting those rubber hangars off the supports!). I've only cranked it to move it out of the shop, so don't really have a "tone" report yet. It does have more tone than stock, and I think I'm going to like it.

Having driven to work and to meet my bride for lunch, I can report that I really like the tone of the Tanabe… it's just enough extra to cross the threshold of awareness, without being obnoxious. Makes me wish I had the 6MT, though! At any rate, this is exactly what I was looking for, both aesthetically and from a sound standpoint. Happy.

nice... Is it touching the bumper? Sucks that there is no cut out anymore... If not, expect a burn in the bumper soon.

Nope - there's maybe 10mm clearance.

Tanabe Medalion

Out of the box, Tanabe Medalion 14.5 pounds. Stock Honda part, 9 pounds.
Weight reduction claimed by Tanabe is actually 62% heavier than stock.

Important to know if weight reduction is your goal (it wasn't mine). I figure it helped my front-rear weight bias! (C:

I just got mine installed and i like the noise/tone (perfect actually) but when i accelerate it just feels a tad bit less responsive. Maybe its just the noise being a little louder and i'm expecting the increased noise to match with the acceleration lol

So a month on, I'm still very much liking the Tanabe… it's gotten a little louder, but is still not obnoxious (to my ears!) and is barely above the threshold of noticing at low throttle inputs.

On the other hand, it sounds AWESOME when going through a long underpass/tunnel under heavy acceleration from 4K-6K RPM!

It looks real nice. It's the most stylish exhaust I've seen for the Fit yet. If only it was a tad more aggressive in sound. I'd take the Tanabe style and quality of finish with the Bisimoto sound.

It's been two months since my post just above, and the exhaust has definitely gotten a little more of a growl to it since. It's not obnoxious inside the cabin at normal speeds, but I did get a "your car is *loud*" comment from my wife the other day when I wound it out on the last mile to our farm (redlined it using Sport mode "paddle gears" on a rural, straight and flat road).

One of these days I need to shoot some video…
