I don't think its very loud at all. Any 90's car is much louder. Its quieter than the last generation fit for sure.

I don't own a fit (yet).
But having test driven the 2013 back in November, and the 2015 this week, I can say there is a noticeable reduction in cabin noise in the new model.

As far as engine noise, I test drove a CVT, so you're probably not as interested in my impressions there. It was definitely different, but I didn't feel it was distracting (except perhaps when getting on the freeway and it hit a high pitched whine while getting up to speed).

Overall, it wasn't any louder than I would have expected a small hatchback to be.
It's definitely no Lexus, but coming from a 2001 Honda Civic I can tell you it's much quieter than my, now, 13 year old car.

Take that for what its worth.

Noisy. 2010 base on UHP summer tires. Trans is vocal, engine is vocal, tires are vocal. The older models have the least amount of insulation. High speed road conversations have to be turned up a notch LOL

I like it that way though.

I'm waiting to test drive a manual 3 also, but I don't need a car right away so I can afford to wait for the winter sales. Wait a bit and haggle, don't pay that asking price. There's a dealer advertising 17.8 for a touring 6MT, it can be done. The Fit definitely is not out of the running for me though! I said earlier in another thread engine noise was audible in the '15 Fit even under normal accerlation, but I didn't notice much road noises even on the highway. My '12 Fit Sport had noticeable road noises on the highway which I remember to be a bother.

I have a 1st gen (GD) and the road noise is present, not too disturbing, at least for me. But sometimes when it's windy it almost seems like the windows are open just a bit, so it's quite loud. Nothing I would base my decision off of cause I don't care about noise.

The 2nd generation is apparently an improvement over that, so those noises are probably not a problem in the 2nd gen.

The 3rd gen is an improvement over even the 2nd gen, so I really don't see how these problems would still be present. Unless you're used to driving premium cars, in that case it will probably still be noticeable.

I drive a 2009 Fit Sport. I have NEVER found the amount of road noise unusually or unbearably loud. First, it is not luxury car quiet, but everyone should know and expect that. When driving over certain types of pavement, the tires will roar, but that is a function of the pavement and tire design more than the car. Wind noise is present at speed and is probably greater than lower, more aerodynamic, cars. Engine noise from my manual transmission car is nearly silent at idle. Absolute silence from inside the car with the windows up while idling. While driving at 3000 RPM or less, the engine noise is clearily audible over other noises. Above 3000 RPM, you can hear the engine as in almost any car, and if I had to make criticism it would be the the engine noises are not as sporty sounding as they are from my NSX or from the BMWs and Porsches I have owned in the past, but are similar to other small 4 cylinder cars.

If there is one aural issue with my fit that I find objectionable, it is that the glove box occasionally squeaks over certain bumps in the road. That bothers me, but the tire noise, engine noise and wind noise from this car are pretty much normal, or in some case lower in volume, than other cars in the small car class.

Twenty three years ago, lexus set a new standard in quiet in cars, All other Luxury car manufactures responded and made great stride in this regard during the 90's and this has spread down market to cars like the Accord, but I would never expect that type of noise suppression from any economy car.

My '12 Fit Sport is quiet on good pavement and loud on older pavement at speed (30MPH and up). The wind noise is a little noticeable on the freeway, but the stock tires are the loudest element.

It's not enough to bother me but it is something you are aware of.

2009 Fit was loud. I listened to music so it didn't bother me, but it was loud and my rear passengers noticed it all the more. You know it's loud after you drive in a much quieter car, which for me was the 2012 Fit. Much quieter and you instantly realized it was a tighter, quieter cabin. If the 2015 is even better, I'll know it. You know your road noise very well, and you know when it's been improved upon, instantly.

Despite the fact that all of us are different in body and in mind, that goes true for our senses.

My 15 is pretty quiet, road noise is present due to the stiff suspension so you hear bumps but the engine is pretty quiet and so is the CVT once at speed. I don't find any of it annoying as I drove a Cobalt and it had more rattles than a baby factory.

My wife and I test drove a 2009 auto and a new 2012 5sp back to back on the same road and the extra sound deadening in the newer one made enough of a difference to help justify buying the newer one. 2 years later and she thinks our Fit has gotten loud, but after a ride in our friend's 2009 Fit or my 97 Prelude and she's reminded of how much quieter our Fit really is.

The 2015 Fit is supposedly a further improvement in quietness, but you shouldn't expect "luxury car" quiet in any smaller car.
