If you're going to park overnight do you do it on a street where all of the businesses have solid roll-up security doors and there are no other cars nearby?
It's sad, but there is no way that I would park in that place.

Yeah it's sad and annoying. This area has those really tall apartments, so I'm assuming the owner lives around there. I always see the car parked around here when I'm going to work. And the African American lady is the owner of the car, I believe.

I lived in a much nicer part of SoCal and we still never parked our car on main traffic arteries. Too often some drunk would misjudge and sideswipe a parked car.
One time I was at home in the SFV and heard a crash around the corner on the arterial street. Right after I heard a terrible screeching and people yelling. I looked up the block and saw an older RWD Chevy Impala coming up my street. The right front corner was destroyed and the wheel was 90 degrees to the direction of travel and squealing along the pavement The car was smoking its tires and could barely make walking speed. It was also being chased by a dozen or so people on foot. The car finally expired in front of my house and the crowd proceeded to beat on it and try to open the doors. I retreated inside my house and called 911. Luckily we were near the cop shop and they got there before the crowd got to the driver.
