2105 headrest alternatives

So the 3rd gen headrests are even worse than the 2nd gen headrests for those of use who like a more upright driving position. Please no flames about how the headrests are fine, or how it's a "head restraint", I've heard it all before.

Flipping the headrest around isn't the best option, due to lack of padding on the backside.

It looks like the JDM Fit RS has a more upright headrest angle:

versus the US market one:

Any sources for oem japan parts in the us? Any other alternatives?

I've already checked the post spacing, it's different between the 2nd and 3rd gen Fits, so the old solution of an '07 Accord headrest won't work.

Maybe American heads are bigger, so we need more room?

This is actually the first car that I've ever owned that I can actually use the headrest comfortably. It seems to stick out more and it's nice.

Hmm, I might have to try that. Is it comfortable? Will it protect your head/neck in a crash?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds the headrests a bit much.

I won't even pretend to make any claims in terms of the safety aspect. My last car ('03 mustang GT) had headrests only to check the headrest box. They were on the top of the seats, but under no circumstance would they ever actually make contact with your head. So any headrest is a big upgrade for me.

With my upright seating position, the stock headrest was in constant contact with the back of my head, I did not feel that this was safe or comfortable, so I reversed it. Now the only time my head would contact the headrest is in an accident. I find this much more comfortable. I want to be clear that I don't recommend that anyone else do this, it's just a thing that I did. DO NOT REVERSE YOUR HEADREST. I'm crazy, I did it, but you shouldn't. I'm a bad man, don't be like me. I'm not encouraging anyone to alter the safety equipment of their vehicle. Okay I think that's cleared up.

In 2105 the head rest will be an antigravity field needed to support our giant craniums. ;-)

If it really bothers you the easiest option is to talk to a local upholsterer to modify your current headrest

This cushion This cushion
has resolved my wife's problem with the headrest. You can't tell it's not factory when it's installed. FWIW.
