Way to disable touchscreen alert at start-up ?

Hi,

I am the happy owner of a new 2015 Honda Fit. I love the car so far, but there is one issue that is driving me crazy. Every time I turn on the car and the touchscreen boots up, there is an alert that says something like "Driver remains responsible for safely operating the vehicle...". You have to press "OK" to continue. Does anyone know of a way to disable this alert or is there something I'm missing? I'm hoping I'm not forced to press "OK" every time I turn on the car from now until the day I decide to sell it!

Thanks!
Michelle

Sorry. Just humor. Welcome to the forum. I don't have the new fit so i dont know. Have you looked in the owner's manual? I know many navigation units require the prompt as well but will go past that stage if you don't respond.

Haha, thanks! I've spent some quality time with the owner's manual, but I haven't been able to find the answer to this issue yet. It might go away if I didn't press OK, but I usually want to mess with the touchscreen before I start driving and so I don't wait too long (you know, because I'm "responsible for safely operating the vehicle" and all that). I'm sure I'd get used to it, but it's a little annoying.

There is no way to disable it. The only thing that will interrupt the message is putting the car in reverse and the back up camera pops up. And once you take it out of reverse, the message comes back for a few more seconds.

It will go away on its own after about 5 seconds.

It bugged me at first, but I'm used to it now. I rarely hit the OK anymore. Just wait for it to disappear.

Good to know, thanks andre. I guess I just have to learn to be a few seconds more patient

It's a legal thing with Honda. Glad with this model it's only on for 5 seconds and then disappears.

My old 2012 Civic Hybrid with Navi the darn thing stays on for 30 seconds and if I don't press OK before the timer runs out the screen goes blank and stays that way until I touch the screen. Talk about annoying! lol

Yes, it was a bit annoying at first; I would have to hit 'OK' every time. Now I just ignore it and its gone before too long.
