2015 Tires
Anyone else have completely bald tires at 35k mi? I have a 2015 EX and I've been pushing my tires for the last few thousand miles, but they are completely bald (yeah, I know). I looked but didn't see any other threads about this, so I apologize if this is duplicate.
Has anyone else had the problem? I checked to see if there were any issues with the tires and I didn't see any recalls... I just don't get it. I have had so many cars over my lifetime and this is a first for me. Even the Bridgestone tire guy said its a first for him.
Thanks.

yes, mine are nearly bald at 32k. I tow with my car but this is how its been with previous Fits. Simply cheap tires not meant to last. I made the dealer with my 2011 put bridgestone turanzas and they lasted till 44k before they were bald, good alignment numbers too

I've had the Bridgestones, the Dunlops and the Firestones that come stock on the Fit. All were pretty much shot at 30,000 miles. At least they were worn to the point where I wouldn't try to run them in the winter.

Upgrade!
I just replaced my OEM tires after 31K miles because they had acquired a few punctures, slow leaks, and a flat spot ('feathering' - my fault) which caused an annoying vibration.
I shopped around online and found a cheaper model of tire with much better reviews and ratings. I'm SO glad that I did. The rides a hell of a lot quieter, smoother, and handles even better than when it was brand new.
Seriously, don't just buy identical replacements.

So what did you get? I've been looking around online for 16-inch replacements and so far I'm kind of disappointed with the selection.

I bought General brand Altimax RT43's in 15", but I'm pretty sure they do come in 16".

There's a larger thread here: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/3rd-...tire-life.html
I'm at just under 30k, and one of the tires is at 4/32, 2 are at 5/32 and the one I had to replace when I got a sidewall puncture is at 8/32. I'm just going to replace all 4 when the times comes, probably something in 205/50/16 instead of the stock size.

On my 2010 Fit Sport I got 40K miles on the OEM Dunlop tires. They were below the wear bars and I should have replaced them earlier. I replaced them with Michelin Premier A/S tires. These are a 60K mile warrantied tires and are recommended by Consumer Reports. Unfortunately if you are looking for an inexpensive tire these would not be your first choice.

30K is pretty typical for OEM tires. They are designed to a low price point since few car buyers question the quality of tires on their new car. As long as the tires hold the rims off the ground until the car is off the lot Honda considers it a win.
Frankly, I don't want to stay on Firestone tires any longer than I have to.

It's discouraging that over half the people on the thread are running their tires down to the wear bars or "completely flat", don't you think? Sure, OEM tires are cheap on subcompacts ... makes sense, right?
Don't be a dumb, replace your tires when they get low. The tires are the only bit that contacts the ground, so they're pretty key to anything you want the car to do. And a set of decent tires is way below a $500 insurance deductible. To say nothing of your safety ... or the person you hit going sideways ...

The stock tires on my Fit are lousy, especially when it's wet. If they need replaced at 30k, it's a blessing. I had the same experience with my Subaru WRX and Triumph Scrambler, the manufacturer's tire choices (for me) have been total crap.
