2017 Nissan Sentra
I rented a 2017 Nissan Sentra a few weeks ago in Hawaii (Big Island). I was glad that I have my 2015 Fit!
1) Nissan's headlights are like 1950's flashlights, hard to see at night.
2) Nissan's CVT isn't very linear, RPMs jumps like 4 speed automatic. When I lightly touch the pedal, the RPM increased to 3k from 1.5k.
3) On a long uphill highway from Kailua-Kona to Hilo, Nissan felt like it is taking off with 4k-7K RPM all the way uphill! The road wasn't that steep compare to California.
4) Nissan's Cruise Control don't be able to keep the speed steady on hills. Cruise set for 50, on uphill, it decreased to 40 and on downhill, it increased to 60+.
5) Nissan's steering wheel is about 2 inches offset to the right. Felt strange with hands offset 2 inches.
I used my Fit's Cruise on BIG hills (Sierra Nevada Mountains), CVT stayed linear and able to keep the speed stable uphill/downhill. It don't really need to go over 3K climbing the mountain.

Rather than to put excessive miles on the Fit, I rented and put 3400 miles TX-CA-TX in an under power Nissan Versa. On an incline, the CVT was loud, kept hunting for an rpm to keep cruise speed at 65 mph. The steering felt vague. But the VERSA costs about $2,000 less than the Fit, plus $1000 cash back. The only good thing was that it got over 40 mpg on the entire trip cruising at 65 mph while cars and trucks were passing me at 75-80 mph on I-10. I spent about $190 on regular gas, around 2.00-2.20/gallon except in CA most where a gallon of gas cost about $2.90/gallon.

With winter season here, as soon as my headlights get covered in a layer of salty residue/dusty stuff, I notice a pretty obvious difference in headlight performance. So I give them a clean after slushy roads have been cleared/became dry to restore performance.
