Thumbs up Lil Red Express

So my daughter bought a brand new 2016 milano red ex.

And I would like to thank everyone who chimed in to help in that process (different thread).

This thread will be a time line. For mods and stuff.
We had a little snow this weekend but that didn't stop progress. Lol, added a Benen Ind. red tow hook and an arm rest pad. Don't know why honda would make it with part of the rest cut out but for short ppl that needs to pull the seat forward there's nothing to rest your arm on. But daddy to the rescue!

Benen Tow Hook

Chrome tip.

Still working on that DaveGee, I love pix so as soon as I finish it up it'll been on here.
I own a couple of hondees and this is the only one that doesn't have a full top for the arm rest? Not a good design for Rachel.

Thanks for asking.

Armrest is a definite must for long road trips! It's nice to shift your weight a little onto the armrest for a bit. I put one that also has storage, pics from sig picture.

Does that tow hook thingy just attach to the existing tow hook? Structurally sound or just for looks? I use the stock tow hook to lift the rear when doing tire rotations, would that prevent the stock tow hook from being a lift point?

Nice addition to the family!

Ya'll may want to look into some Clazzio seat covers and Weather Tech floor mats as well. I love that they have additional padding (memory foam on my leather covers), look darn near factory (depending on what color combo) and protect the seats factory cloth while in use. As for the Weather Tech mats, they cover MUCH more of the floor compared to the Honda OEM mats.

I see your GD3 is quite the little racer now. Good job!

Still thinking on adding a stiffner to the bottom of this pad.
Right now it's another little project.
And the tow hook definitely can be used to pull on. The stock rear thingy is too small to accept a hook and cable.

But it just looks cool too.

If you're jacking up the car from that point please use stands!

Yup, stands are used. I just use the tow hook to lift one time and I can put stands underneath.

I don't think you answered my question though, can you still lift with the stock tow hook once you put that extender piece? Can you post a picture of how it attaches to the stock tow hook?

Yes you can still place a floor jack there and use as a lift point.

Saturday me and my dean's list daughter, Rachel ( so proud of her!) are going to install the flaps, do a little detailing and finish up the arm rest.

It's your car and can mod it how you like. I get that. Why did you install a tow hook, basically in the same location as the factory tie down loop? I'm sorry I just don't get adding tow hooks? I understand certain sanctioning bodies require them for racing and their location clearly marked with the appropriate signage. Those racing organizations usually also require an external electrical cut off switch which most of the street driven cars with tow hooks don't have. At this point the car doesn't look like it's going to be used as a race car?

Sooo today was wash and dry the Express, ya right my daughter ha ha won't but thats why she has me as her dad.

Installed the front splash gaurds, and it was easy. The lowest inside oem fastener will need to be replaced with a 8mm bumper fasteners. And the screws and clips worked fine for outer .

Thumbs up Arm rest extention

Got this for my little girl. But it didn't have any type of rigidity. So cut a .009" plexiglass and glued it with 3m super 77 to the pad and then glued anti skid to the opposite side of the plexiglass, like in a tool box to the mating side of the armrest.

Moved it forward 2.5" it serves the purpose.
