A small mention about the Fit, but nonetheless better than none. I think the Fit would work very well.

My son will be 16 soon and I’m planning to get him a vehicle. He’s 6 foot 2. Being about that height myself, I acknowledge the issues with driving a smaller vehicle and don’t want him to go through that. Also, he plays the double bass, which he’ll have to transport at least once a week in this vehicle. The bass is also 6 feet 2 inches long. We usually transport it in my SUV by standing it up on its thickness. I am working with a budget between $12,000-$15,000, with taxes. – Kumar, Toronto...
While some suggest hatchbacks, as small as the Honda Fit, others suggest minivans such as the Dodge Caravan or SUVs such as the Ford Flex....

Even if your son has to move the seat back because he is tall, the Fit steering column can extend telescopically and adjust up and down. He would be able to find a comfortable driving position. Then, the Dodge Caravan has much more room and easier to load and unload his double bass. He may even carry other musical equipment. I think the answer would be which car he is less likely to be embarrassed driving.
