2016 Honda Fit LX
I just purchased a lightly used '16 Fit LX and it was previously a loaner vehicle.
The people who used the car, scratched the encasing around the ignition trying to put the key in the ignition. It's really bad. I was just wondering if there was a way to replace this/costs involved. It's not a big deal, it's just ugly.
Pretty happy with my purchase.... coming from a 2015 Golf TDI.... sadly enough. I loved my run with VWs.... but with the emission scandal, it was time for something different!
Thanks for any help you can provide!

Glad to hear that you're enjoying your Fit. You might want to ask the selling dealer if they could replace the parts at cost of the parts only as a good will gesture for you taking a vehicle off their lot. They just might want to keep you happy. Always worth a try. As for the VW... I wish I had known you were selling the TDI, I would have bought that from you, especially since you aren't all that far from me. Despite the emissions scandal, it's still a sweet ride.

How about cutting some heavy duty sticky tape to the shape of the circular ignition area. Then, you you won't see the scratches and all is good. I have a 2017 LX. It does take a little effort not to scratch the surrounding area when I insert the key into the ignition.

I wouldn't worry about it ....it's mostly outta sight, it's not gonna rust, it's not gonna fail, just scratched plastic.....I would ignore it, but, that's just me. We bought our '15 certified pre-owned, have never even looked at the plastic surround around the ignition switch....mine could be scratched, or maybe not....dunno. If it bothers you enough, get the plastic bit replaced, but, decide if it's really worth the time and trouble for something that's pretty iinconsequential, in my book. I mean, you bought it used, it is what it is...it's minor
