OBD not ready (emission test MA)

OBD not ready (emission test MA)
So today I took my car for the two recalls (CVT software update and ignition coil replacement) for my Fit 2015 LX at the dealer. After they were done with the recall (2.5 hours), I asked them if they could do my state inspection. The OBD sensors returned "Not Ready" for several items... so the service guy is telling me I need to drive my car over 55 MPH in the highway plus a few in-town driving to have the OBD ready for testing again. Why would my OBD be not ready after 1 year? I drove my Fit 2015 for over one year with 12K miles on it. Has anyone experience this issue?

This is normal behavior for any car OBD2 car. Legitimate smog testing stations will have a sign saying to go away and come back after 50 miles if you just had your car serviced or battery changed. Others will just take your money and fail you.

Just an FYI, the complete procedure to "set" the readiness codes is explained on page 437 of the owner's manual.
Most likely the shop disconnected the battery to do the recall, which erased the readiness codes.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I will drive it for a week before taking it. I will probably put 100 miles or so before going to the dealer again. If you haven't done the recall, do it when you have plenty of time, the coil replacement took them hours...
