Compass

It just dawned on me, a GPS compass is only accurate once the car is moving in a relatively clear area (not in a deep urban canyon). It must extrapolate direction from movement. Cars with compasses depend on a magnetic compass, one that is accurate even when the car is not in motion or has no GPS signal. I'd still love to have a compass display, however, even if it was momentarily confused as I started driving or lost its mind when it lost signal. I'm VERY directionally challenged.

Before I had a GPS we drove the wrong direction on an Interstate while coming home from VA. That will never happen now with my GPS.

You forgot to add the to that.

I was in the correct lane, just heading the wrong direction. A compass wouldn't have helped me stay in the correct lane.

Has anyone tried the Honda Nav app that you can DL and play with the converter?

Due to how cheap it was, I was kind of talked out of getting the EX-L with the Navi.

Everybody who has mentioned the navigation iPhone app has said it is terrible, which is reflected in the iTunes reviews and 2 out of 5 star rating. Not to mention the tangle of cables and adapters in the center console.

You might have better luck if you start a new thread about this rather than tacking it on the end of an unrelated thread.

I thought about that, but with no manual to guide me, I didn't want to try to find the antenna connection. I have my radio tuned to 90.3 FM, and that seems to work - most of the time. It's not good for traveling, though, as other stations pop up. In other cars, I used the car kit, and that was perfect.

If someone has replaced the head unit, they'll probably know how to get to that antenna connection.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Not my 98 Chrysler Sebring. That thing lost its compass orientation every 2 or 3 days it seemed. Thankfully, I am not directionally challenged, so it's not an issue for me.

On another note, has anyone in this zombie thread heard anything about an Android-based nav solution?
