Here are some powered subs with small footprints so you can tuck them in your Fit without much interior trim modifications.
Sound Ordnance B-8PTD
Focal Integration IBus 20
Kenwood KSC-SW11
They go from $200 to $550.
Happy shopping!!!!!

Not sure how long you've owned your Fit, but mine sounded bad for a couple of weeks then the speakers all of the sudden sounded better...It's not a top of the line system, but they sound better than they did....

I have upgraded my speakers to Rockford Fosgate Power 6.5's all round run by the stock head unit and the difference is amazing, cost me $250 and everything i needed was in the box. I have a sub to install but haven't been as motivated since doing the speakers. There are pics in the what mods thread.
These are the speakers

The MAD Fit from SEMA upgrade set up can be found on this page. 2014 SEMA

No visible signs of the upgrade. Everything fits under the stock door cards and nothing fowls the windows. I used the adapters that came with the speakers to secure them, they are made to be trimmed down to fit per the pic below
I added sound deadening to the doors and used a little to keep the adapters in place during installation.

what are the stock speakers rated at, and what ohm?
Are you sure you are getting enough power from the stock head unit amp to run those speakers? Most stock systems won't put out 70w RMS. Does it throw off the balance with the stock tweeters?
I assume now you have to listen to the head unit at a higher volume to get the same volume sound out of a larger driver, but the tweeters don't know that...

What model speakers are these? You mean you got speakers and sub in a kit?
If so, which kit?

I have no idea about the stock speaker ratings but I could hear them struggle to cope with highs and lows played at the same time.
I am sure they will be louder with an amp but the stock head unit does a good job of driving them. Mid-high teens is comfortable at low speeds, 25-35 is loud and it will drive clear sound to the max of 40. My VTi does not have the tweeters which is why I opted for two way Power 6.5's instead of the Punch 6.5 splits for similar $.

Thanks for the info.
I have the EXL-Navi. Do you have pics and directions of how you ran the wiring out of the EXL radio amp? How did you wire in the powered sub?

No kit, just liked the idea of having all one brand so bought two pairs of the T165's and have bought a shallow mount 10inch sub to put in the back. I am planning a box that will still allow access to the spare. I will be recycling an old, old, old MTX amp until I save for a Rockford Fosgate amp. The amp(s) will be attached to the legs of the back seats so they are out of the way and get good airflow.

What is the mounting depth of those rockfords? Anybody know the max mount depth for the 6.5 doors? Looking at getting this if they will "fit":
Imagine I61-2V2 6.5" Component / Coaxial Speaker Set - 12v Electronics

They are Rockford Fosgate Power series 6.5's (T165).

I'd also like to know how to leave the OEM speakers in and just add an under-the-seat sub. The lack of bass is killing me.
Not sure how to do the wiring though.
I can think of replacing the OEM speakers later in stages as budget permits.

ive mocked up some boxes of different sizes, pulled from some of the more popular under seat subs. Nothing really fits "under" the seat. Some of them fit halfway, but I haven't found one that will fully sit under the seat without compromising the rear passenger footwell.
I was asking about the stock components, if there were power ratings and resistance on them. Doesn't help to know 70w RMS at 4 ohms. Also, makes sense you don't care about tweeters because you didn't have any.

I'm a huge fan of Bill Fitzmaurice speakers. I have an Autotuba in my Corolla and it's great. The Dual amp I have though could easily be better (it gets interference or something and makes the sub will sound like somethings rubbing against a mic). The only thing with BFM is you need to build them, but they're not hard if your handy and have tools.
