Mirrorlink and google maps
Has anyone successfully gotten google maps to show on the honda fit's (2016 LX in my case) screen? I have a Samsung Note 5, and I downloaded car mode. When plugging in via USB, I am able to successfully sync apps that the mirrorlink site lists (sygic and spotify) but I cannot seem to get google maps to show. Sygic is an expensive app, so I am hoping for a google maps solution. From what I read, Samsung's car mode app for the newer phones (s6 etc...) should mirrorlink with no issues, however anytime I plug the phone in, the phone shows "Phone is connected via mirrorlink" and I cannot do anything., However on the fit's dash I see sygic and it works fine. Or should I just look into a phone mount and give up on making use of the screen?

Can you please tell me if I need to get any special cable to connect to CAR mirrorlink. Googleplay shows sygic app is free. Can I just use any micro usb to usb cable came with phone for charging?
Thanks

I get the HDMI mirroring trick while in drive already, but my question was more generic as to getting google maps to mirror. I was finally able to somewhat get it going. I had to literally open car mode on my note 5 first, then open the maps via that app, then plug into the car. The on the car, open rockscout which then mirrors. The problem though is anytime I have maps open, it crashes back to the samsung car mode screen. About to give up and just get a car mount.
