I just started ordering and talking with Photodon.com about getting a custom cut touch screen protection film made for the EX model head unit. If someone could let me know if the EX-L or the LX have the same overall shape, i'll let Photodon know. These things are fingerprint magnets so I went with the MXO oleophobic coating film just for that. It'll be under $20 shipped. I'll keep up to date on the progress.

Below is the hi-tech method I used for tracing, the good ole graphite edge transfer method! The bottom right corner of the screen is the only thing that might make this come out to a sloppy fit. we'll see.

 

The EX and EX-L have the same size, but the LX has a 5"screen instead of the 7".

 

The LX is also not a touch screen so it shouldn't be a fingerprint magnet. Mine isn't

I cut an iPad screen protector to fit mine. Would be nice to have one made of glass, such as the ones for my phones.

 

Sorry for the delay, it came in a week or so ago and work has been killer busy, I already have 31hrs on the clock this week! enough about that.

I think the Photodon screen protection film is a success. My measurements came out pretty close. They state they will cut with an accuracy of ±1-2 mm and it fits very well with that. The only part i dont like 100% is that i did not notice that the bottom edge has the slightest downward concave curve to it. it matched at the corners, but shows edge at the bottom. But fingers shouldnt be there anyway! $20 well worth it in my opinion.

The only tip I could give to installing this for people that have installed screen protectors before is to not flush the upper edge of the film with the thing silver trim piece at the top. There is a tiny gap between the silver trim and the glass that will make a bubble. Just pull it down a tad and you should be good to go! Now enjoy my horribly over exposed, non focused photos. The camera kept wanting to focus on the image in the reflection, and my damn face.








THey should have this available to buy once I give them the word, which i will tonight.
