Weird Issue With Display Screen

Weird Issue With Display Screen
Have a 2016 with about 2K miles and basic screen for radio and backup camera.
Noticed problem under the cover for the screen. Looks like screen is failing or some junk mysteriously got under the clear plastic cover and is on the inside.
Have an appointment scheduled for Tuesday at Honda.
No scratches or damage on the outside.
Anyone else seen this problem?
Thanks

I noticed what looks like a smudge on the lower left area of the LX's display screen, and just the other day I noticed a second smudge seems to have now appeared. Wiping the surface of the display seems to have no effect. The "smudges" are only noticeable when the radio is off. If this sounds similar to your issue, I'll be interested to hear what your dealer has to say.

This was real common on rear projection tv's a few years ago, it was the adhesive that they glue the edges of the multi layer screen together with.. The smudges were due to static letting the dust stick. Was a pain in the neck..

Follow up:
Turns out the smudges on my screen were exactly that, smudges. I tried a little more aggressive cleaning on the screen and the smudges came off. My wife told me that she had pressed on the screen when her iPhone started doing something odd and that was the source of the smudges.

Point well taken...Bob has a real problem, but I turned a simple smudge into an issue largely because I allowed myself to be influenced by the relentless negativity about the Fit on this forum. I leapt to the conclusion that it was a flaw with the car because so many others here seem to have found defects.
But in reality my car has been flawless, and I absolutely LOVE it, I think it's a stunningly good vehicle for the price. It's funny, many vehicle-specific forums are guilty of being too rah-rah and uncritical about the subject vehicle, but the Fit Freak forum really seems to go too far in the other direction. Weird...
As noted, Bob has a genuine issue with his display and I hope he gets it resolved to his satisfaction. But some of the other folks here really seem intent on bashing the car at every opportunity.
For me, I can see I need to spend less time on this forum and more time enjoying this wonderful little car!

I couldn't live without a backup camera now that I have one. Not just for straight back but that extra vision to the sides when reversing from between giant SUVs. It's like a canyon with those things.

Something about moms backing over their children in the giant SUVs their husbands bought them so that they would be "safe." Because of that, they will be mandated everywhere.
The problem is that now people are relying on them exclusively, not realizing that their extremely wide angle view of the cameras makes anything more than a few feet away from the car seem to be miles away.

Backup cameras are mandated for all vehicles in the US in 2019 so Honda is installing them in all vehicles that will still be produced in that year.

My family thinks I'm crazy but I find this another useless federal mandate. A requirement for rear visibility might better solve the issue without relying on gadgets..

Took my FIT to Honda today.
They were nice but said Honda Tech Support thinks a child brutalized the screen by writing on it or erasing on it.
I told the staff the only kids that have ever been in my FIT are my grandsons, 3 years, and 19 months old.
Both only ride in the rear seats using a car seat that restrains them. Not possible that anyone brutalized the screen.
Dealer is working with Honda Corporate for a resolution.
Honda Tech Support has no cases like this one on file.
Will let you know final outcome.

FWIW,, any plastic that is in the acrylic family, gasoline is totally poison to it. When you gas your car up, be VERY careful to wash before touching the screen or any of the clear plastics on the car.. (Headlight covers, dash by the trip button... ) The fuel will craze the plastic almost instantly.. And its highly penetrating.
