J'S RACING C304 SUS 50R Muffler

Ordered from Japan (From Here), this exhaust system came in and I had it installed. I will be adding pics as time goes on. It 'fits' without any modification or issues. It definitely is louder than stock and is not for everyone. I currently have the silencer removed.

Here is some info from measurements I took and weight info.

Muffler weight is 7.6lbs (Setup I had previously was 12.2lbs)
Inlet size: 45.33mm (1.785")
Exhaust Tip size: 74.02mm (2.914")
Silencer inlet/outlet diameter: 35.64mm (1.403")
***Silencer opens up to 70.71mm (2.784") to fit inside exhaust tip outlet.
Silencer weight is 100grams (3.5oz)

Muffler Outlet without Silencer:

Love your work ,keep it up! Hope your missus isn't pissy for it

Makes me wish I have small tool/lift setup.
Anyway, enjoying seeing where it goes, post some numbers too! (Hard stats)

Thanks CN_Fit!
The Missus is fully supportive thankfully.

Was testing full J's racing exhaust with Myxal SRI-CAI Ram-Air Intake. Temp was between 66F-70F.
As for numbers, I posted it in the 1/4 mile thread. Here they are -->
5/22/15 Cecil County Dragway
15.504@90.62mph
15.484@90.86mph
15.445@90.15mph
15.448@91.03mph
15.465@90.27mph
15.448@90.31mph

This car has some potential. Still no lightweight pulley. Still no cams! Still no tuning (Ktuner)! <---All those still pending and in the works. Just think what the possibilities are.
Further out....aftermarket intake manifold! Supercharger (Like the CRZ) or a low psi turbo 3-5psi (Next generation 1.5ltr Earth Dreams Civic or Honda Stepwagon).
Who know's where these could lead if they come out. Things are going WAY to slow though in the aftermarket.

Nice! Simple solution. All the benefits of a short ram without drawing hot underhood air. I have a heat problem with my intake with the pipe going past the radiator. How do you keep the box from rattling?

It's a cardboard box. No rattle! I don't recommend this type of intake to anyone because there may be concerns of heat generated by the engine. I have never had any issues with it though and have shown that the intake air temperature stays ambient when driving around. Without it, I've seen intake air temperatures as high as 150F + in stop-n-go traffic. It doesn't go above 12 degrees hotter than outside when not moving but immediately drops to within 5 degrees as soon as I start moving.

I like the placing of the box, high and not too close to the really hot engine components. I'd be more worried of the cardboard getting wet and collapsing but this is not really the point, the main purpose of your box is testing. Hope to hear of your latest track times.

I bet you could rebuilt that cold airbox using fiberglass or carbon fiber.

I plan on going to the track this weekend. No new mods to test though. There is a recall on the CVT in which it gets reprogrammed. At least two posters claim it has a faster 0-60mph time and feels like more low end torque. I want to see if any data supports this. I'll be taking the car in this Friday for the recall and testing Friday night (weather permitting). Car has stock intake on so hopefully the new Evolution battery arrives on Friday. Then I can re-install the Myxal SRI-CAI as well.

I'm currently shopping for a cam installer. I need to get pricing on install and re-install (in case the car does not run with the Deltacam). If it runs, I'll be testing the cam without a tune, since none is available at the moment. If the stock ECU can handle the cams, I'll be testing this the first week in November. In search of two high 14 second 1/4 mile runs. I can dream........

I was just at the dealer two weeks ago asking about the car revving and not accelerating and was told it's normal and there was no mention about a recall for the CVT. What info do you have on this?

I found this info after a 1 sec search, recall JU3 & NHTSA 15v574000. Is that info what you are referring to?

**Update 11/5/15**

I have some very good news. The cams have been installed and the car starts up and runs without any issues. No idling issues! No problems! The shop owner Dan of First State Motorsports will be doing some test runs in the morning just to make sure everything is cool.

If everything tests out ok, I'll be having a lightweight NST pulley installed mid-morning/afternoon and will take Misfit out to the track for some 1/4 mile runs tomorrow night. The weather tomorrow will be beautiful. Should make for an interesting day. I'm hoping for the best. This is all for now.....

Wow, im surprised the cams were done. What are the specs compared to stock? Im assuming they are probably a mild grind.

See post #13 for cam specs.

Deltacams consider their 260 grinds to be mild. The 272 grinds are wild and the 282 are for racing. I have the 272. The 260's are for low to mid range. 272's are for mid to high end.

From most of the Honda threads that I Googled, a tune is recommended to get the full benefit of the 272s. You can get away with 260s on the stock ecu.

I'm patiently waiting to work with Ktuner again to take advantage of the full setup. Drivability has not been affected at all. I've since swapped back to my 2" max flo pro muffler (much quieter than J's 50R) and for some reason lowend torque came back and the car seems quicker. Need to test at the track again. Testing will commence on Friday of this week. Will be testing a 'secret' Ktuner reflash along with the NST pulley installed.

I had a Progressive rear sway bar installed. Also a Tanabe Sustec strut tower bar. I stopped updating here since Imageshack pretty much destroyed this thread by making you pay for their services. Most of the pics I put up have broken links now. Thanks for asking!
